About this property

To the east of Split, Villa Tave in Podstrana is ideal for a family holiday on the Dalmatian Coast. Accommodating up to eight guests, this magnificent sea-view villa features an impressively spacious terrace with a large outdoor pool, as well as a sauna and many more great facilities.

Villa Tave is located just 800m from the beach, with the centre of Podstrana even closer, so you will have easy access to the local restaurants and bars. The village is on a direct route into the city of Split, which is around 11km away, and offers a wealth of attractions like Diocletian’s Palace.

The villa itself features a 70 sq m saltwater pool, surrounded by a large terrace with seating and dining areas. Both covered and open areas let you choose between sun and shade. A barbecue and lounge area with a gorgeous ocean view give you all the ingredients for a great evening.

Inside, the house impresses with its large windows ensuring views of the pool area, village and out to sea, and its modern style. Wonderfully comfy sofas make lounging extra-relaxing, and you have satellite TV and free Wi-Fi to keep you entertained. A well-equipped kitchen and dining area form part of the same open-plan space.

The three bedrooms offer lots of comfort, with king-size beds, TVs, en suite bathrooms and more stunning views. On the ground floor you will find a spa zone with a large, sea-view hot tub and fitness equipment in addition to a lovely, Scandi-style sauna.

With its beautiful beaches and mountainous landscape, Podstrana has become one of the most sought-after locations in the Split region. Crystal clear waters and more than 6km of beach make it a popular choice for visitors, who also enjoy its excellent restaurants serving traditional Croatian cuisine. Its position is ideal not just for Split, both many other worthy destinations in the opposite direction – within 20 minutes you can be in Omiš, where the stunning canyon and River Cetina take centre-stage.

Split may be Croatia’s second city, but its attractions are first-rate. Diocletian’s Palace, Saint Domnius’ Cathedral, and beautiful squares and buildings give it real status. Add in the glamorous Riva waterfront and beautiful Marjan Hills, and there’s already plenty you won’t want to miss.

The Split Gallery of Fine Arts and Archaeological Museum are among the city’s great cultural venues, as is the Mestrovic Gallery, showcasing the work of the country’s greatest sculptor. Various other museums add fun and interactivity, such as the Museum of the Senses, a great place to take the kids. Another place that fits that bill is the city’s excellent aquarium, the largest in the region and a fine introduction to the creatures of the Adriatic.

The expansive spaces of Marjan Forest Park are another great reason to visit, with fragrant pine forests and botanical gardens that form the ‘green lung’ of the city. Tours to the waterfalls of Krka are also popular, around an hour’s drive from the city in the vast Krka National Park. The Roman ruins of Diocletian’s Palace are easy to enjoy with guided walking tours of this and various other historic attractions available. Look out too for Republic Square, a landmark space where cultural events are often held.

Within a 30-minute drive of Split are a number of pretty coastal destinations, like Jesenice, Stobreč and Podstrana. A little further down the coast is the town of Omiš, the adrenaline sports capital of the area, with zip-wire adventures across the River Cetina and a hosts of sporting activities on it.
