Strolling through its cobbled streets reveals hidden courtyards, timeworn stone façades and some of the region’s finest dining experiences. Slightly closer to home and equally enchanting is Domme (15km), a bastide town perched above the Dordogne, offering spectacular panoramic views, and nearby La Roque-Gageac (20km). nestled dramatically beneath limestone cliffs and often voted one of the prettiest villages in France.

Canoeing along the Dordogne is a must, with excellent hire centres near Domme and La Roque-Gageac, perfect for exploring the river’s winding beauty and its fairytale châteaux. The spectacular Jardins de Marqueyssac (26km) are just 30 minutes from the property, offering a stunning blend of artful landscaping and panoramic views over the valley below.

Venture further north into the Vézère Valley to discover the cradle of prehistoric art. Les Eyzies (39km), set amidst dramatic cliffscapes, is home to some of the world’s most important cave art, while the legendary Lascaux caves offer an awe-inspiring look into early human creativity.
