About this property

In the heart of Provence, just a short drive to the art galleries of Saint-Rémy, Villa Eglantine is an impressive holiday villa offering contemporary elegance and Provençal charm. Listen to the sound of the cicadas as you relax beneath your pergola with a glass of local rosé or cool off in the gorgeous swimming pool followed by al-fresco feasts beside the summer kitchen.

This old farmhouse has been immaculately restored with exposed stonework and warm wooden beams alongside sleek modern finishes and air-conditioning creating a truly wonderful home. The kitchen is both stylish and practical with doors opening to the pergola for breakfast on the terrace or long al-fresco meals on warm summer evenings. We also love the cosy lounge with a fireplace and TV or you may prefer to chill out and watch a movie on the mezzanine upstairs, a great way to escape the summer sun.

Villa Eglantine sleeps up to 12 guests across its six lovely bedrooms, each one with its own en suite. Two attractive master bedrooms (one on the ground floor with garden access) exude restful tones whilst there are four simple yet pretty twin bedrooms, all with beds that can be joined as a double on request. With such attractive interiors and flexible sleeping arrangements, Villa Eglantine works well whether you are a family or group of friends.

Back outside, it’s idyllic with outdoor lounges beneath the pergolas and pines trees, alongside the stunning swimming pool, sun loungers and poolside summer kitchen. Chill drinks in the fridge (there’s an ice-maker too) and prepare al-fresco lunches to enjoy in the shade of the covered terrace before dipping back into the elegant swimming pool.

Despite the rural setting, it’s less than 4km to the heart of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, a vibrant town in Les Alpilles Natural Regional Park so loved for its tree-lined boulevards, café terraces, art galleries and high-end restaurants. The bustling Wednesday morning market is the perfect place to pick up a wealth of delicious local produce.

Meanwhile, discover authentic villages such as Eyragues, Mollégès and hilltop Eygalières or spend time visiting the historic sites of Avignon and Arles. The perched villages of the Luberon are also within easy reach or stay closer to home and appreciate your beautiful Provençal surroundings so close to Van Gogh’s beloved Saint-Rémy.

Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (4km) is a vibrant Provençal town that captures the essence of southern France. With cobbled streets shaded by plane trees, pretty squares and a weekly Wednesday morning market that brims with colour and local flavours, this artistic town invites visitors to slow down and savour the finer things in life. Wander its historic centre, browse boutiques and art galleries, or follow in the footsteps of Van Gogh, whose legacy lingers in the landscape he once painted with such passion.

In the opposite direction lies the friendly village of Eyragues (4km), known for its Friday market and traditional festivals that celebrate Provençal heritage with music, food, and dance.

A little further afield, Eygalières (15km) charms with its peaceful streets, ancient chapels and breathtaking views over olive groves. In the heart of Les Alpilles, the dramatic hilltop ruins of Les Baux-de-Provence (13km) await, where stone houses cling to the rock and the surrounding landscapes are incredible.

The area is a haven for outdoor lovers and cultural enthusiasts alike. Cycle or hike along scenic trails or take a horseback ride through Les Alpilles. Wine tastings at family-run vineyards, visits to olive mills and cooking classes with seasonal produce offer authentic local experiences. Families will enjoy the tranquil countryside, perfect for picnics and peaceful exploration, while art lovers will delight in the many ateliers dotted across the region.

Cultural day trips abound: Avignon (18km) captivates with its majestic Palais des Papes and medieval bridge. In Arles (26km), Roman ruins and a thriving arts scene await, while L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (31km), famed for its antique markets and waterside cafés, is a must for treasure hunters. Meanwhile, discover the storybook villages of the Luberon, where Gordes, Roussillon and Ménerbes, each less than an hour by car, offer spellbinding vistas and rustic charm at every turn.
