About this property

Set in pretty gardens, Villa Mare Sea occupies an enviable beachfront position at Lefkimmi on the isle of Corfu. Accommodating up to 12 guests, you can enjoy snacks on the beach under this villa’s gazebo on the sands – a wonderful addition to an already stunning property.

You approach Villa Mare Sea along it's private drive, with grass and palm & olive trees either side you can see the beach through the frontdoor. From the pool area the golden sands and sparkling azure waters of the Ionian Sea are sure to tempt you, or you can sunbathe on the sun loungers found on the house’s pool terrace. Breakfast or drinks under the roomy beachfront gazebo comes with idyllic views of the coast. The real treat is the amazing sunsets.

Impressive design touches give the interior of the villa a real wow factor, with teak wooden floors and Greek marble found throughout. From the terrace, step right into the living and dining area complete with fireplace and ample seating for your relaxation. The kitchen is equipped with Nespresso machine, a huge fridge freezer and everything else you could need. The villa also comes with LCD TVs, air-conditioning and free Wi-Fi.

Six superb bedrooms, including two master bedrooms, come with en suite shower rooms, toiletries, hairdryers, bathrobes and slippers, and all are attractively furnished. A seventh guest bathroom can also be found at the villa. The bedrooms are thoughfully equally divided 3 each side of the living area., perfect for two families.

With the beach just 10 metres away, Villa Mare Sea couldn’t be better placed – the outdoor spaces are sure to make your experience unforgettable. Nearby Lefkimmi, a small town in the south of the island, has useful amenities such as a supermarket, ATM and a few restaurants.

You will be just under one hour’s drive from Corfu Town, the capital of the island. It’s well worth a visit – an interesting history reveals itself in the architecture of the atmospheric Old Town. Highlights including the Old Fortress, Spianada Square and the pretty Esplanade.

Villa Mare Sea's position on the 'almost' private sandy beach means you won't want to be away for long. However the temptation of a boat trip in the owner's boat to another restaurant or just to see the beautiful coast could be enough temptation. the beach here has gold sands and warm shallow waters. Within a short drive you have the Lefkimmi Marina and a few tavernas. The small town of Lefkimmi is less than 5km away, surrounded by countryside, Lefkimmi hasn’t been developed for tourism and retains an old-school charm. A river runs through the town which offers a selection of restaurants and cafés, good places to try some authentic cuisine.

While Lefkimmi feels unmistakably Greek, Corfu Town owes much of its character to the nations who controlled it at one time or another. You'll seee Italian architecture, a British cricket green, Italian gelato and many Greek foods. The chic café terraces of the Liston may even call to mind Paris – it was indeed built by the French. A period of British rule is credited with the curious popularity of cricket on Corfu; you may find a game going on at Spianada Square.

The Palace of St Michael and St George is a Neoclassical mansion built for the British High Commissioner in the early 19th century, which is now home to the Museum of Asian Art. Pay a visit to see works originating from Japan, China and India, among others. It’s worth going just for the café as this has a wonderful view out to sea in the direction of Albania. Other cultural highlights in town include the Municipal Gallery, Archaeological Museum and Byzantine Museum. You can walk up to the top of the Old Fortress in about 20 minutes, although the cobbled slope can be slippery, so choose your footwear accordingly.

Other notable landmarks include the palace of Mon Repos, the birthplace of the late Duke of Edinburgh, and the grand Achillion. Built as a summer palace for Empress Elisabeth of Austria, this building stands in beautiful gardens.

Elsewhere, the island is full of unspoilt natural landscapes and wonderful beaches. The likes of Dassia, Paleokastritsa and Kavos – the latter only around 15 minutes’ drive from Lefkimmi – are reckoned to be amongst the best in Greece.
