Knockvicar is a village in County Roscommon situated in the north of the county, between Boyle and Carrick-On-Shannon. The village straddles the Boyle River that links Oakport Lake with its larger sister, Lough Key, via a weir and Clarendon lock gates 300 metres upstream. The town of Carrick-On-Shannon is 9 miles away and offers many boating and water activities on the River Shannon along with good pubs and restaurants.
