The bustling town of Ballaghaderreen is situated in the western part of County Roscommon and is only a few miles from the border of County Mayo.

For the history and botany enthusiasts, Strokestown House and Gardens are certainly a must whilst staying in the area, with its walled gardens, Irish Famine Museum and woodland walk. A wonderful base to sample this majestic region.
