This gorgeous terraced cottage is a gem of a holiday home. It is full of character and is tastefully decorated. It is located in an enviable location in the peaceful fishing village of Slade in Co. Wexford. This is an ideal base for a family or group of friends to unwind or take on the many adventures the area has to offer. You can sit back, relax and observe the activities of the harbour from your front door and take in the stunning sea views, a nicer location you could not ask for to unwind. If walking is on the menu, you can take the fabulous cliff walk of the Hook Peninsula and visit one of the world's oldest, intact & operational lighthouses.
You will not be short of things to do in the area. Enjoy a traditional family day on one of our many beaches. With footie golf, crazy golf, hedge mazes & woodland walks all available on the peninsula, you will hear no one complaining of being bored! Why not soak up some of Ireland's history and visit some of the many historic sites in the area, Tintern Abbey, Dunbrody Abbey, The Hook lighthouse, Dunbrody Famine ship, Duncannon Fort and Kennedy Homestead, all nearby waiting for you to explore. If you are the adventure type, the Hook peninsula does not disappoint, with kite surfing, kayaking & scuba diving all on offer near by. If you prefer it at a more leisurely pace, you can enjoy the scenery via horseback. After the day's adventure you will come back to your comfortable cottage, which boasts a cosy sitting room with open fire, a well equipped kitchen to cook up a meal. There is one double room down stairs along with family bathroom. A further two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one twin. Outside to the rear there is an enclosed garden for you to dine alfresco on a nice summer evening. This is a lovely cottage for a get together of family or friends, with the vast array of activities nearby to keep everyone entertained. Note: as the property is full of character low ceilings are in place.
Fethard-on-Sea is a village east of the Hook Peninsula, south-west County Wexford. It has a colourful history, including the lifeboat tragedy of 1914, and the Fethard-on-Sea Boycott. A fishing and holiday village, it's a great base to enjoy beaches, shops and pubs. The Hook Peninsula attracts visitors with the lighthouse and beaches, plus there is watersports available. There are sites to visit, such as Tintern Abbey and medieval abbeys in Dunbrody and Graiguenamanagh, plus the star shaped Elizabethan Fort at Duncannon houses a military and maritime museum, and The Cockleshell Art Gallery. New Ross and JFK Arboretum or the Dunbrody Famine Ship are close, or travel to Waterford or Wexford to take in all they have to offer, from the Wexford Opera House, Johnstown Castle and The Heritage Park to Waterford Castle and Waterford Crystal.
