Guests say

Guests have praised the Farmhouse for its peaceful and scenic setting, high-quality furnishings, and cosy atmosphere. The property's rural charm and proximity to local attractions like Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher have been appreciated. While some minor maintenance issues were noted, the overall experience has been highly regarded, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The majority of guests found the Farmhouse to be clean and well-maintained, with only a few isolated incidents of cleanliness issues such as broken glass and dust. These seem to be exceptions rather than the rule, as most reviews do not mention cleanliness as a concern.

The location is consistently praised for its tranquillity, beautiful surroundings, and convenience to local attractions. The rural setting offers a peaceful retreat with stunning views, making it a highlight for many visitors.

Guests have frequently commented on the comfortable beds, cosy log burner, and overall homely feel of the property. The spaciousness and quality of the furnishings contribute to a relaxing stay, although a few guests mentioned the sofas could be more comfortable.

The Farmhouse is well-equipped with modern amenities and luxury touches like roll-top baths. However, some guests noted minor maintenance issues such as stained mugs, missing knobs, and the need for a vacuum cleaner. These small points suggest room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

While many reviews express gratitude for the experience and mention the helpfulness of the property owner, there are no specific references to gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

We had a couple of hiccups along the way. When we arrived, there was no toilet paper and the shower in the master bath was not draining properly. Sofas in the living room were uncomfortable and shabby. So a little maintenance would go a long way. Other than that, the location, solitude and beauty of the area/house were outstanding.

Beautiful and a little off the beaten track, which is what we wanted. Lisdoonvarna and Doolin are a ten minute drive away. It is a lovely cottage, well fitted out when it was built, but the furniture, fixtures and fittings, china and linen are looking very tired. Light switches and the cooker were missing knobs, there is nowhere to hang-up and dry wet clothing. When we arrived the property had clearly not been cleaned properly - worktops and toaster covered in crumbs, kettle grubby, sink grubby, the master bathroom sink and toilet uncleaned, fridge not cleaned, and grubby finger marks, jam stains, cup rings and spills everywhere. Even the door handles were sticky, one in particular had a thick layer of residue. Ironically, there was a cupboard stuffed full of cleaning products which we used to spend the first two hours of our stay cleaning the property before our friends joined us. Over the next 24 hours the four of us were still periodically dusting or wiping! There was no welcome pack which is fine but not what one might expect of a 'luxury' cottage. With no vacuum cleaner available it was difficult to sweep up effectively with only a dustpan and brush. There was a dead bird in the wood-burning stove (three more birds came down the chimney during our stay which we let out - the external cowl had no wire netting around it) The washing machine and tumble dryer were filthy - black mold in the washing machine and the tumble dryer had clearly not been cleaned out for ages, the filter was thick with fluff and the water reservoir was full to the brim. As we needed to use both appliances we had to spend time and energy cleaning them until we were happy to put our clothing in them. A chap turned up when we arrived but seemed unconcerned about the poor state of the place although he did come back and replace two lightbulbs as requested. W. Overall we had a great holiday with local friends but, for the money we could have expected better from this accomodation. At least the beds were comfortable enough and had been changed and fresh towels laid out, although the linen on one of the beds was inside out. We left the cottage in a much better condition than when we arrived but things do still need need to be addressed. At least the next guests must have benefitted from our cleaning!

The house was fabulous, renovated with a fireplace a bright kitchen/living room with skylights and lots of windows. The grounds and garden outside were beautiful and well maintained and we saw the gardener working on a few days. We were close to shopping in Lisdoonvarna, the pubs of Doolin, the cliffs of Moher and many other tourist attractions. Fanore Beach was a 10-15 minute drive, and the sunsets over the Atlantic were fabulous. The floors and couches could have been a bit cleaner and if there was a vacuum we would have cleaned the floors ourselves. But all in all the property was fabulous and the price was very reasonable. Thanks again, Canada Loves Ireland! Michael Berry
