The village of Glenties, located near the Bluestack Mountains, takes its name due to the meeting of two Glens and two rivers, offering superb walking trails and fishing opportunities. The village also boasts a lovely selection of friendly pubs where you can enjoy a pint of the black stuff. Further afield, you can spend a day at Narin beach, a Blue Flag stretch of golden sand where you can enjoy swimming in the surf or walk along the shore, while you indulge in some ice cream! Golfers will love the excellent facilities at Portnoo Golf Club, which lies on the shores of the Atlantic. There is so much to see and do in County Donegal and this wonderful Glenties cottage makes the perfect base for discovering it all!

The picturesque town of Glenties meaning ‘The Glens’ is located in the heart of the Donegal Highlands, at the meeting point of the two glens of the Owenea and Stranaglough rivers on the northwest edge of the Bluestack Mountains. The two rivers, particularly the Owenea are well known for their salmon fishing. Although a small town, Glenties offers seven pubs, four general and grocery shops and three takeaways in its busy main street. The Glenties area is perfect for hill-walkers, hikers, bikers and tourists who wish to explore this varied, wild and rugged part of North West Ireland.
