Surrounded by the rolling landscapes of Le Marche, Casa Anice is an elegant 5-bedroom Italian home that welcomes 10-12 guests with its impressive interiors and private swimming pool.
Having undergone a recent renovation, every floor of this classic abode has its own story to tell. Admire grand artwork, objets d’art and an overall eclectic style alongside the owner’s own handmade ceramics. We love how each of the three levels in the main house features its own living-dining area and kitchen, ideal for a peaceful morning coffee or quiet lunch before gathering for al-fresco meals by the pizza oven and barbecue on warm evenings.
Four double bedrooms are scattered across the main house whilst there is a small mezzanine level at the very top of the house with two additional beds. Then there’s the charming annexe for another two guests, again with its own lounge and quirky kitchen. Another superb addition to the house is the well-equipped gym, not to mention the much-loved pool with its glass enclosure allowing swimming even in early summer and autumn.
The house is set on the edge of a little hamlet and close distance to a couple of local restaurants. Just a 5-minute drive away is the medieval village of Tolentino, home to the famous frescoes of the Basilica St. Nicholas, whilst the historic sites of Abbazia di Chiaravalle di Fiastra and Urbisaglia are just a little further.
You are also well located for Macerata, such an important cultural town famed for its artistic and musical heritage and home to the 19th century Sferisterio di Macerata and famous summer opera festival.
On the edge of a little hamlet in Le Marche countryside, Casa Anice enjoys an elevated setting around 500m above sea level. Walk along the country road (no pavement) passing trees, fields, a little church and distant views of rolling hills.
The nearest village, Tolentino, is a short drive away for more restaurants, supermarkets and a charming old centre, home to the impressive Basilica St. Nicholas with its frescoed chapel. Explore the medieval quarter’s narrow lanes with pretty doorways, shuttered houses and historic gems. On the outskirts of Tolentino, there’s high quality tennis courts and a municipal swimming pool and sports complex.
This area is rich in architectural history and natural beauty. Horse-riding and bike tours can be arranged alongside several walks including themed walking tours across the Macerata province. The Abbazia di Chiaravalle di Fiastra (14km) is a popular attraction just a short drive away a Romanesque abbey home to three restaurants and various experiences. Combine with a visit to the historic village of Urbisaglia (16km) with its Roman archaeological site.
The owners can arrange opera tickets for the 19th century Macerato Opera House including VIP experiences – the town’s opera festival takes place annually from late July to August. Macerata (26km) is famed for its music and artistic heritage and it’s a wonderful city to explore with its historic architecture, beautiful churches and palaces, authentic restaurants and traditional bars. Make sure you try the local pasta dish, Vincisgrassi.
Further afield, spend the day by the Adriatic at the summer lidos of Civitanova Marche (45km) or venture north to experience the natural beauty of the Conero coastline - private boat tours can be arranged to discover idyllic coves and incredible scenery. Meanwhile, golf lovers note that lessons and green fees can be arranged at the hospitable Conero Golf Club, just over an hour by car.
