About this property

Nestled amid the peaks and valleys of Italy’s stunning South Tyrol region, this exceptional four-bedroom chalet provides up to ten guests with awe-inspiring views of the magnificent Dolomite Mountains and a luxury holiday retreat like no other. Located at an elevation of twelve hundred meters, White Deer's exquisite estate encompasses seventeen hectares of land, including a whirlpool and a private golf course. Lovingly restored and designed with low-key elegance in mind, this former aristocratic hunting lodge is an idyllic Alpine haven that you will dream about for a long time to come.

Enter the chalet through a custom-made wooden door and you will be astonished by the splendid blend of traditional and designer luxury all around you. The entryway, arched with a vaulted ceiling, provides a comfortable seating area, the ideal place to rest while you take off your boots and relax in the inviting warmth of your beautiful mountain home.

The Tyrolean-style Stube parlor at the heart of the chalet sets the tone with a rustic mountain aesthetic. The space invites guests to gather for long, leisurely meals, where the adventures of the day can be shared over a glass of wine from the chalet’s spectacular wine cellar. The crackling fire inside the stove and the delightful décor of the adjoining tearoom instill a true sense of comfort and wellbeing. Whiling away the hours here after an afternoon spent exploring the snowy surrounds of the chalet is the perfect way to unwind with your loved ones.

The understated elegance of White Deer continues throughout each of the ground floor’s ample living spaces. There is another welcoming fireplace in the lounge area, tempting guests to curl up for hours on end with a good book. In the well-equipped kitchen, traditional wooden furnishings blend harmoniously with the latest modern appliances. A convenient study also serves as a cosy home theatre, where magical movie nights can be enjoyed. The designer furnishings tastefully presented throughout the chalet offer guests unparalleled comfort and luxury.

Another thoughtfully arranged lounge is located on the upper floor, acting as a gateway to the chalet’s four individually appointed bedrooms. There are three enchanting double suites and one room with two sets of bunkbeds that will particularly delight children. The names given to the suites - Il Nido, Il Sogno, L‘Aurora and Il Rifugio - perfectly encapsulate the chalet’s romantic appeal. With simple, soft furnishings and wooden beams gracing each room, the bedrooms provide a blissful sanctuary where you will sleep easily after a day spent outdoors in the fresh mountain air.

Upstairs, you will also find the chalet’s spa, featuring a handcrafted Finnish sauna, a Turkish bath, a whirlpool, and an amazing shower. The chalet’s water comes from its own natural springs and an experienced therapist is available upon request.

The emphasis on rejuvenating wellness can also be felt in the beautiful outdoor space. Here, guests will find stylish wooden lounge chairs and cashmere blankets. There is a large, heated whirlpool with panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountains and countryside. Located in what was once a traditional goat stable, you will find the chalet’s fine wine cellar, boasting over a thousand bottles of local wines. White Deer’s remarkable golf course has been delighting the estate’s private guests since 2012.

This captivating chalet is stylish, laidback luxury at its most discreet. Whatever the season, the serene meadows and fairytale, snow-capped mountains of South Tyrol will capture guests’ hearts time and time again.

A region fondly referred to as ‘the sunny side of the Alps’, South Tyrol offers visitors the opportunity to discover one of the world’s most uniquely beautiful landscapes. With Chalet San Lorenzo’s enviable location in the lush green woodland of Val Pusteria, overlooking the Aurina and Badia valleys, guests will be afforded unforgettable views of the Dolomites, a unesco World Heritage Site. The region’s stunning natural beauty and fresh mountain air provides guests with an abundance of refreshing recreational activities throughout the year.

From the verdant greens of spring through to the warmth of the Italian summer, guests can enjoy cycling tours of South Tyrol’s beauty spots. For adventure-seekers, there are plenty of rock-climbing facilities available throughout the region, including secure climbing routes along the famous vie ferrate of the Dolomites. These routes are numerous, offering visitors the chance to traverse the glorious peaks via wooden pathways and suspended bridges, aided by experienced mountain guides. White water rafting excursions on the Passer River are another great way to spend a sunny afternoon.

Closer to home, you can relax during a morning spent foraging for wild mushrooms with the guidance of one of the chalet’s hosts, Stefano. The cool shade of the estate’s forest is also the perfect place for berry picking. Later on, why not arrange a cooking lesson with your other host? Giorgia will show you how to incorporate the treasures you have found into some delicious local recipes you can take home with you. For those who want to continue on this gastronomic adventure, there are amazing cheese tastings available nearby, with some of South Tyrol ‘s finest cheesemakers. These tastings pair beautifully with a visit to a local winery, where you can indulge in an intimate tour with the owner.

The chalet’s challenging par-three, eighteen-hole golf course boasts a two-tiered green of the latest generation synthetic turf. Along the slopes, there are six tees located at various heights and distances. With an arresting backdrop and nine exciting flag positions, you will want to return every day for another round.

Once the stunning colours of autumn give way to South Tyrol’s magical winter landscapes, the ski season presents endless outdoor activities to enjoy. At Plan de Corones, part of the picturesque Dolomite Superski area, you can choose from over 1200km of slopes. There are private skiing and snowboarding lessons with expert instructors available here, as well as a host of other winter sports to try.

For something a little different, a sleighride through the forest can be arranged. Speak to your hosts about organising a helicopter flight over the Dolomites for an exhilarating trip to remember. Later on, spend time relaxing in the chalet’s Finnish sauna, or treat yourself to a massage before a memorable meal in the tranquil surroundings of Chalet San Lorenzo.
