Villa Menorca Santa Cruz features a comfortable and stylish living area, with cosy sofas in soft, neutral shades, rich and warm well-crafted wooden furnishings, and flat-screen satellite TV, providing guests with the ideal area for enjoying a family film night, or simply for sitting and enjoying each other’s company and talking about your day. The villa has a separate dining area for indoor meals and a well-equipped kitchen that includes everything you’ll need during your stay. Find an oven and electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, coffee maker and dishwasher, and plenty of cookware, crockery and utensils.
On the ground floor of Villa Menorca Santa Cruz, you’ll discover two of the villa’s five bedrooms - two beautifully decorated twin rooms featuring comfy beds and stylish soft furnishings. These two rooms share a modern bathroom with shower facilities. The villa’s other three bedrooms are on the first floor and consist of two more twins and a double, which benefits from an ensuite bathroom and a pretty terrace that offers guests more dazzling sea views. It’s worth noting that the ground floor is also home to a small sixth bedroom, which has a sofa bed and could accommodate an extra guest.
The villa’s stunning outdoor spaces are as functional as they are beautiful, with covered terraces for relaxing and dining and a built-in barbecue area for alfresco cooking. There are plenty of sun loungers on the pool terrace - ideal for soaking up the sun or enjoying a good book (perhaps while sipping a glass of local wine!). The villa’s private pool, easily accessible via steps, overlooks the magnificent landscape and the ocean - providing a breathtaking experience that will make a stay at Villa Menorca Santa Cruz one to remember forever.
In order to reach the entrance of the villa, individuals must traverse a distance of 44 steps starting from the road entrance. These steps may comprise a staircase or an inclined pathway, and are designed to aid visitors in reaching the villa while ensuring ease of access.
Villa Menorca Santa Cruz is located in the exclusive and beautiful San Jaime region, close to Son Bou Beach - one of the longest stretches of golden sand on the island of Menorca. The beach features elevated timber walkways over the sand dunes that provide easy access for pushchairs, prams and wheelchairs, making it popular with visitors who have small children and those with limited mobility. Son Bou beach can get busy during the summer months, but with so much space, it should be easy to find a quiet spot to set up for the day and enjoy the clear, shallow waters and soft sands. You'll find plenty of family-friendly amenities here, such as lots of on-duty lifeguards, a first-aid post, a sun lounger and parasol hire. There's also a wide range of water sports activities that the whole family can enjoy.
You'll find Club san Jaime near Son Bou beach, open from late morning until early evening, and features some exciting water slides that the kids (and the adults!) will enjoy. Oliver recommends spending an hour or so here on a hot day. It's great fun and very reasonably priced.
If you head into the centre of Son Bou, you'll find several good supermarkets, ideal for self-catering, and plenty of places to buy well-priced trinkets and souvenirs. There are also ATMs, a good taxi rank, and an excellent bus service available if you want to travel a little further afield to Santo Tomas, which is also accessible along the coastal path if you fancy the walk. Santo Tomas is a slightly quieter resort than Son Bou, and this beautiful village is popular with families with young children. The resort is a nature-lovers paradise that features gorgeous remote beaches, countryside walks and cycling tracks - ideal for those who want to get away from it all and enjoy all of the beauty and peace this island offers.
If you'd rather stay put in Son Bou, you'll be pleased to know that a good selection of bars and restaurants cater to all tastes and budgets. For example, Casa Andres, which specialises in international cuisine as well as Mediterranean dishes and seafood, or Es Forn de Torre Soli Nou, where you can sample delicious Spanish meat dishes. For your evening's entertainment, we recommend heading to Buddha Cafe bar, THE place to go for late-night musical entertainment. Or take a trip to one of the many cocktail bars, such as La Roca and Mai-Tai, which have a dazzling array of colourful and delicious cocktails to enjoy.
