The bedrooms feature floor-to-ceiling glass doors and sea-facing terraces, but it’s the colourful artworks and funky memorabilia that make each room one-of-a-kind. There’s also office space and a fully equipped gym on this floor, but if you’d rather take it easy, step outside and relax in the landscaped vertical garden.

The remaining bedroom is the main suite and is situated across the whole fourth floor. It’s impressive both in size and design. Here you’ll find huge glass doors overlooking the city and coastline and underwater windows facing the swimming pool. In the morning, step onto your own private terrace and breathe in the sea air or take it easy on the lovely outdoor swing and sofa. Back inside, playful touches abound with colourful LED lighting and glossy white furniture complementing a huge bed, walk-in shower, freestanding bath and massage table.

The funky decor continues upstairs to the fifth floor and open-plan living area. Once again, glass doors drench the space in natural, uplifting light while modern artwork and a Roche Bobois Arabic-style sofa add splashes of colour. There’s also a modern kitchen featuring high-end appliances and a dining area, where a steel table seating 14 people overlook glorious sea views.

While the interior is gorgeous, the outdoor area is equally stunning. With plenty of shady spots and sun loungers, you’ll soon be feeling at ease. Laze by the dazzling pool, relax in the hot tub or sauna, or simply grab a cool drink and chill out in the garden on the LED-lit furniture. And if you can tear yourself away from all this fabulousness, Barcelona, with its many shops, restaurants, and nightclubs, is just a 20-minute drive away while Badalona beach is 10 minutes by car.

Villa Ibicenco is located in Mas Ram, Badalona, just 15 minutes outside Barcelona. Surrounded by a national park, it’s a tranquil area that also allows you to take advantage of the city. The gently sloping hillside offers plenty of walking trails and excellent scenic views, while the nearby sandy beaches are clean and not crowded. Badalona beach is the most popular beach in the area, just a 10-minute drive from the villa. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy a swim in the sea, but if you're feeling more energetic, you can try your hand at jet skiing or paddle surfing.

Afterwards, brush off the sand and head to the pretty promenade, where you’ll find a good selection of snack bars and restaurants. Away from the seafront, Badalona’s central boulevard is an interesting place for a stroll and is full of lively cafes, restaurants and shops. Be sure to stop at the museum of Badalona and learn about the history of the city (the city dates back to prehistoric times), then take a tour of the Anis del Mono distillery. The distillery dates back 150 years and still produces Badalona's famous aniseed-flavoured liqueur using traditional processes. Afterwards, sample a glass or two, then have your photo taken with the bronze monkey statue that sits outside.

For more historical attractions, guests staying at Villa Ibicenco can reach vibrant Barcelona in just 20 minutes. Stroll along La Rambla with its vibrant bars and restaurants and admire Barcelona’s cathedral. Gothic in style, it dates back to the fourteenth century and is one of the city's most magnificent structures. Other not-to-be-missed attractions include Museu Picasso and Gaudi's awe-inspiring La Sagrada Familia. With so many attractions in Barcelona, it's impossible to see them all in one day.

Instead, take your time and be sure to stop for a bite to eat at one of the many superb restaurants. The Old Town is a charming area with a delightful maze of streets and a great spot for a leisurely lunch and drink. While there is plenty to see and do in Barcelona (the city also boasts a Chocolate Museum, Olympic and Sports Museum, and amusement park), come evening, the place is packed with partygoers. Barcelona is known to be one of the world’s best party cities, so be prepared for a range of exciting entertainment and all-night dancing.
