Casa Gelpi is a fantastic traditional home near the peaceful town of Tamariu on the Costa Brava. The simple home is in a true oasis of peace, away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger tourist towns found along the coast, with three bedrooms accommodating six guests, its ideal for those seeking a little tranquillity in a beautiful part of the world.
The heart of the villa is the open plan living and dining room. The large sofas and cosy armchairs are great for the whole group to relax in, enjoying a little television, or even a board game. During the day, space makes a great reading room, with plenty of light entering from the glass patio doors to the terrace. The dining table occupies the rest of the room and can comfortably seat all the guests for some beautiful conversation over dinner. Separately a fully equipped kitchen means guests can enjoy some home cooking, with plenty of space to cook up big meals for everyone. The ground floor is also home to the first of the bedrooms. This twin bedroom has two single beds and has an adjacent shower room.
On the first floor, the remaining two bedrooms can be found. A further twin bedroom with two single beds and the master bedroom. The master bedroom has its very own private terrace, and it is a fantastic spot to enjoy a morning coffee and get started on your latest holiday read. The master bedroom also has a television, so you can enjoy a lazy evening in bed and relax during your holiday. Both bedrooms share a family bathroom.
Outside, the villa’s private pool is a great addition where you can spend lazy afternoons dipping into the cool water, before laying back on a sun lounger, allowing the sun to dry you off. The pool is framed with a small grass lawn, adding some vibrant colour to space and making sunbathing more comfortable. There is also a sheltered outdoor dining area; this is the ideal spot for some al fresco dining or evening glass of wine as the sun starts to set. Although the first-floor terrace also offers a wonderful space to talk long into the evening, you are spoilt for choice! With its simple design and tranquil location, there can be no doubt that Casa Gelpi is perfect for a quiet escape to the Costa Brava.
Casa Gelpi is in a quiet residential area, nestled in the gorgeous hills just outside the Muntanyes de Begur nature preserve. Perhaps one of the best features of Casa Gelpi is that it is just a short walk from the beautiful beach at Tamariu, an incredibly quiet spot on this popular coastline.
With no high rises or large hotels in sight, the shallow waters and sandy beach are perfect for lazy days at the seaside. Enjoy the relaxing scent of pine as the breeze carries the wonderful aroma in from the surrounding rugged hilltops, covered in rich green pine and tamarisk trees, you will truly feel at peace in this fantastic location. The town has some great amenities all within walking distance from the villa, a supermarket, several restaurants and bars as well as beach shops cover everything you may need to make your stay comfortable.
There are a series of walking tracks all along this amazing coastline, and keen hikers may enjoy the walk all the way to Llafranc. Upon arriving, why not treat yourself to a cool beer on the beachfront and appreciate a well-earnt rest. Llafranc is another wonderful town well worth exploring, made famous by the likes of Salvador Dali, and this larger town has some fantastic restaurants from which you can enjoy another breath-taking view of the gorgeous Mediterranean.
There are a whole host or private tour operators in the area and for a good reason. Explore the coastline by boat and discover incredible rocky coves and pristine beaches only accessible from the sea. This makes for a spectacular day trip, and you can bring a picnic, or even do a little fishing on your way before finding your own private cove to enjoy lunch. There are also several diving guides, offering a range of trips for all different experience levels, there is no better way to explore the local sea life. If diving is not for you but if you would still love to explore the sea life, pick up a snorkel from a local shop to explore the beach shallows, you will still find an abundance of life!
