About this property

Surrounded by almond trees and muscatel vines, this traditional finca enjoys a peaceful setting in the countryside just moments from the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. With a large terrace and pool area, the typical rural villa offers panoramic views over the landscape, making it the perfect place to relax with family and friends.

Positioned on the terraced agricultural landscape, Villa Grandesa is typically constructed with whitewashed walls and a terracotta tiled roof. Arranged over two floors, the recently renovated interior is bright and spacious, with well-designed rooms featuring modern furnishings and traditional ceilings with exposed timber beams that add warmth and character. The main living rooms are found on the ground floor, where the entrance opens to a comfortable seating area with a brick fireplace and large TV that offers a cosy space to relax in the evenings. A feature dining table sits at the front of the room before leading through to the neat, well-equipped kitchen and an adjacent laundry room. There are also two bedrooms on this level with double beds and a shared bathroom and shower.

From the entrance hall, a staircase gives access to the upper floor, where there are two double bedrooms and a further room with twin beds. All of the rooms enjoy picture windows looking out to the surrounding landscape, whilst the main room has its own private balcony, inviting you to wake up and admire the lovely views.

A traditional riurau (type of structure typical of the region) runs along the side of the house, offering a charming sheltered patio area with large arched openings that frame the garden and landscape beyond. A spacious dining table is perfect for enjoying leisurely lunches outside or lighting the lanterns in the evening to enjoy a more festive atmosphere and make the most of the warm summer nights. The paved terrace stretches out from the house, with a large swimming pool in the centre and a number of loungers along its edge that invite you to relax beneath the sun. A charming outbuilding sits to one side, with a further dining area and colourful hanging lights that offer the ideal spot for sharing meals beside the pool or entertaining guests with a barbecue. An outdoor shower and bathroom are perfect for rinsing off after a swim, whilst to the far end of the plot, a grassy area features a more informal seating area where you can take an afternoon siesta or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening whilst watching the sunset over the landscape.

Whilst enjoying a peaceful position, set amongst the terraced rural landscape, Villa Grandesa is just a short drive from the Mediterranean, making it easy to explore the region's wonderful coastline. And what's more, you're super close to the supermarkets for when you need to stock up!

A 10-minute drive takes you to the charming town of Moraira, where you will find plenty of local amenities. Once a small fishing village, the settlement now offers a number of shops and restaurants, as well as a handful of sandy beaches to enjoy. Wander through the Old Town, with its network of cobbled streets and traditional whitewashed houses, and stop in the central square to admire the beautiful Iglesia Fortaleza de Santa Catalina. You can head down to the waterfront to see yachts and pretty sailboats pulling into the marina or stop off at one of the nearby restaurants to enjoy some lunch. Locally-owned Pescador is a great option to have some delicious freshly grilled fish or seek out Terra Vian, a charming wine bar found tucked in the Old Town beside the reconstructed castle. With outside seating and friendly hosts, this lovely little establishment is a fun place to spend the evening, and you can expect a menu of quality tapas plates and an impressive selection of wines.

To the centre, Moraira's main Platja de l'Ampolla is a popular option for families, or head slightly to the north of the town to discover the lovely El Portet. The bay is known for its crystal-clear waters, making it a great spot for snorkelling, or hire some kayaks and explore the rocky inlets and Jurassic-like cliffs. It is also possible to paddle around the headland, where you can discover the hidden Cala Llebeigh, a pretty little cover once used by pirates and smugglers for trafficking goods. From El Portet, a trail leads from the beach out along the cliff to the Mount of Cap D'Or, where you can walk out to see the 16th-century watchtower perched on the point and enjoy wonderful views back across the bay.

Alternatively, the lovely Cala Granadella is just 30 minutes south along the coast. Follow a winding road down between a forest of thick pines to reach the beautiful bay. Sheltered between rugged cliffs, the Blue Flag beach boasts clear turquoise waters making it an idyllic spot for a swim. The remains of the Castell de Granadell sit atop the southern point, and you can follow a path up to the cliff top to discover the remains of the once prominent fortress. There are a handful of restaurants to the back of the beach, where you can enjoy a beer on one of the shaded terraces or try a plate of delicious arroz a banda, a traditional rice dish cooked in fish stock.

With picturesque bays and charming coves dotted up and down the coast, there is plenty to explore or head inland to discover the region's less-known landscape. A 40-minute drive takes you through the scenic countryside, passing by farms and citrus groves before heading up the winding mountain road to Callosa d'en Sarria. From here, you can enter Las Fuentes del Algar and explore the cascading waterfalls and beautiful natural pools. Enjoy a quiet afternoon strolling beneath the trees or take a bracing swim in the cool water before settling for a picnic on one of the nearby rocks whilst listening to the sounds of falling water.
