This luxury property is a contemporary, detached, three-storey, west-facing villa with a breath-taking Mediterranean Sea view. With five en-suite spacious bedrooms Villa Cemal can comfortably accommodate up to ten guests, the perfect place to stay for a large family gathering or friend’s get together. The villa is an architectural delight, with floor to ceiling windows, letting in natural light, and offering stunning sea views in return. Stylishly furnished and decorated with crisp classic white with splashes of hues of blues, and some dashes of bright primary colours. There is complimentary Wi-Fi and air-conditioning throughout, and adjacent on road parking places. Enter the property through a set of traditional double doors to discover your holiday home from home.

The ground floor has seating area, with two large comfortable white sofas, and a contrasting elephant grey couch, grouped around coffee and side tables, facing an LCD flat screen television, and an enclosed fire place for the cooler months and evenings. The adjacent dining area has modern white eight-seater table and chairs for some impressive indoor entertaining. You’ll really enjoy cooking up some local cuisine in the uber modern red, white, and black kitchen. The first of the five double bedrooms is also on the ground floor, with a double bed, an en-suite marble bathroom with walk-in shower, and glorious floor to ceiling views of the garden. Take the stairs to the first floor where there are two bedrooms, both with double beds, en-suite bathroom and furnished sea view balconies. The third floor is home to the master bedroom, furnished like a suite with a huge round bed, wardrobe and dressing table, a seating area with chaise longue, a cosy fireplace, and picture sea view windows. The fifth bedroom is perfect for kids, with two twin beds, and a bed shaped like a red sports car, with its own en-suite bathroom, it can easily sleep three children.

Access the pool terrace and garden from the ground floor, where you will find an inviting 12m x 4m swimming pool, great for some lengths before breakfast. The pool is surrounded by lots of relaxing rattan sun loungers, and shady parasols. A covered shaded area is home to a comfortable rattan seating set, the perfect place for a morning coffee or sundowner. A ten-seater glass dining table and rattan chairs is ideal for some alfresco entertaining, especially with the adjacent built-in barbeque, where you can cook up some local kofte and kebabs. A lovely lawn surrounds the pool and villa and the garden is beautifully maintained.

Villa Cemal is located in Kisla, to the east of the quaint harbour town of Kalkan, situated on the Turquoise Coast, the jewel of the Mediterranean Sea. The town of Kalkan is 125 kilometres from Dalaman Airport, a scenic one and a half hour journey through the Turkish countryside and Taurus mountains. Originally a Greek enclave called Kalamaki, Ottoman and Hellenic influences can be found in the winding colourful cobbled streets of the old town, full of traditional white houses and home to a plethora of restaurants, cafes and bars, and souvenir shops full of goodies you’ll want to take home.

From the villa it is a quick walk to the local supermarket, and a short drive into Kalkan where you can find shops, banks, and a local Thursday market, that can provide all the provisions for a happy holiday. Within walking distance of the villa are a few of Kalkan’s best and most exclusive beach clubs, with bathing platforms, fabulous restaurants, and some with full size swimming pools. Or take a trip into town on a complimentary water taxi to one of the many inviting beach clubs on the opposite side of the bay. No stay in Kalkan is complete without a boat trip from the harbour, whether it’s a shared one with family and friends or why not charter your own private gulet, a day out at sea with your favourite captain and crew is one to treasure. All aboard for a day of swimming and snorkelling in beautiful bays, enjoy a meal of local homecooked meze, take afternoon tea, and then sail back to harbour cocktail in hand to watch the sunset. For the beach bunnies, Kalkan has its own pebble beach with easy access into the sea.

Travel further afield to the stunning Kaputas Beach set in a natural gorge, or take a trip to Patara, where you will find twenty kilometres of unspoilt golden sands and a protected area for the hatching turtles. Kalkan is home to a number of beach clubs along the length/ of its coastline, have some fun in the sun at family-friendly resorts offering water sports and swimming pools, or relax and unwind at exclusive luxury destinations and be waited on hand and foot whilst enjoying alfresco spa treatments. For those with itchy feet the Lycian Way walking trail cuts through Kalkan. Follow in the footsteps of thousands of years of history, as you trek the trail taking you through major archaeological sites, local villages, dramatic coastlines, and the areas’ flora and fauna. Take a short journey to the town of Kinik, where you can step back in time to the Lycian city of Xanthos. Follow the D400 to Fethiye, and discover the historical sites of Patara, Letoon, Tlos, and Pinara, where you can see the ancient ruins, amphitheatres and temples with Lycian, Greek, Roman, and Byzantine influences. The harbour town of Fethiye is also full of ancient sites worth seeing, as well as a foodie-heaven fish market, and home to some seriously good designer labels and fabulous jewellery shopping.

The nearer town of Kas is just twenty-five kilometres away, and worth the journey alone along one of the world’s most stunning and dramatic coastlines. Walk through the harbour to the cobbled streets full of Ottoman architecture and overhanging balconies festooned with pastel coloured bougainvillaea, barter for unique handmade and antique goods in its many shops, and make memories dining in one of the traditional restaurants serving authentic Turkish cuisine with mesmerising sea views. And if you’re feeling intercontinental hop on the twenty-minute ferry from Kas to the Greek island of Meis, where you can explore the Blue Cave and dine by the water’s edge.
