Guests say

Rookery Cottage is a charming, secluded retreat offering peace and quiet in a beautiful rural setting, with a spacious garden and lovely countryside views. Guests appreciate its cosy atmosphere, comfortable lounge and bedrooms, and proximity to dog-friendly walks and local attractions. While the cottage is well-equipped, some guests noted areas for improvement in cleanliness, garden maintenance, and clearer instructions for appliances. The property is best suited for those seeking tranquillity and a rustic experience.

Several guests mentioned issues such as cobwebs, dead insects, and an unclean oven, though others found the cottage very clean. Cleanliness appears inconsistent and could benefit from more thorough checks between stays.

The cottage's peaceful, rural location is highly praised, offering tranquillity and scenic views. Some found it tricky to locate and a bit remote, but overall, the setting is a highlight for those seeking a quiet getaway.

Guests found the cottage cosy with comfortable lounge and bedrooms. However, steep stairs and only one toilet may pose challenges for some, particularly those with mobility issues.

The cottage is well-equipped, but guests noted the need for better outdoor lighting, clearer appliance instructions, and improved garden and patio maintenance. Some suggested additional features for dog owners, such as an outside tap.

There were no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

Rookery Cottage is a beautiful secluded quiet cottage off a rural road with a big garden adjacent to an open field. It boasts mature trees teeming with birds and butterflies. It provided my family with the perfect place to stay near Bedford and we enjoyed the peace and quiet away from our usual busy city life.
