Hillside cottage is set on the owners working dairy farm and has been renovated to a very good standard in 2020, an ideal getaway for friends or family alike wanting to explore the Shropshire countryside. The property is situated 1½ miles from Malpas, and the historic city of Chester, with its famous races and excellent selection of bars, shops and restaurants, is just 18 miles away. Other places worth visiting, within easy driving distance, include Chester Zoo, 28 miles, Blue Planet Aquarium, 30 miles and Beeston Castle, 18 miles. Cholmondeley Castle Gardens are 12 miles and Delamere Forest, with its ‘Go Ape’ treetop adventure park, is 20 miles away. North Wales is also very accessible from here, and the popular beach resorts of Rhyl, Prestatyn and Talacre are all within an hour’s drive. The town of Wrexham is 10 miles from the property, you are pretty central at this property to travel throughout England or Wales. Shop and pub 1½ miles, restaurant 2½ miles.

A wonderful cottage on a working dairy farm, with views from every window of the beautiful cows. Our children (5 & 2) absolutely loved the cows and the farm dog Jet, who was super friendly and very respectful. Our 5yr old loves dogs, our 2 Yr old has always been absolutely beyond terrified of dogs. By the end of our 3 day stay even our 2 Yr old fell in love with Jet and felt brave enough to give her a little good bye stoke - the 1st dog he's ever stoked. He spoke about her all the way home. A huge thankyou to Jet helping him overcome his deeply ingrained fear of dogs! The cottage had everything we needed for a lovely self catered stay. A great family holiday. Many thanks!

Hillside Cottage is cosy and comfortable. The beds were the most comfortable we've ever slept in! Zoe was very welcoming and extremely quick to respond to any questions we had. It is located on the dairy farm and looks out onto the area where the cows are milked...we found it fascinating and we're sorry our grandchildren weren't with us to enjoy seeing the cows and calves, cats and farm dog. From here it's only a short trip to the pretty town of Llangollen and North Wales or into Shropshire as well as Cheshire. There is plenty to see in this part of the world.
