The hot tub outside was just perfect and the surroundings are so quiet and tranquil, it felt like we were in our own little paradise. The staff were very lovely and helpful and I thought it was a great touch having things like milk, salt, and pepper, as it is the stuff we all forget to bring :). Would definitely stay again.

The kitchen extractor fan is very noisy and sounds as though the fan is rubbing against its housing. Two out of the three shelves in the fridge door are cracked/broken and unusable. Although the cleaners can't be expected to examine every piece of crockery, several items of cookware were found to be rather dirty. However, we enjoyed our stay and the tranquillity of the surroundings, the single track access didn't bother us as we live at the other end of Cornwall and are well-used to such roads.

Firstly when you enter the site, there are no signs pointing in the direction of Stonerush Valley and therefore, we had to explore the park to finally find a sign by the restaurant showing us to our lodge. Upon arriving at our lodge, the key was easily accessible and easy to use. The lodge was fresh and mainly clean with a few cobwebs here and there but with the location being so idillyc, this was easily forgiven. The suprise of the bottle, card and bedroom decoration for our anniversary was just a brilliant touch that instantly made us feel welcome and valued. The facilities within the lodge were ideal and had everything you could want and more. We did have a dishwasher that failed during our stay and although we were visited quickly, we still ended up washing the dishes manually which did tarnish the luxury stay a little. The log burner in the lounge was just such a nice touch and made for some very cosy evenings. The power shower was amazing as was the hot tub, although, this was a little too hot for us. It would have been nice to have the chance to change the temperature. Also, the decking did have some shards of wood sticking up meaning we had to be careful when moving around the decking. The outside seating and decking did make for a perfect spot to just sit back and relax and enjoy the sounds of the countryside. The way that the lodges are laid out, giving the feeling of being on your own, was just perfect. It never felt like anyone was intruding and we felt alone which is just what we were after. On one evening, we did visit the onsite restaurant and after making it known that we had a gluten intollerance, we were handed the menu and were told they could adapt any of the items. It was a very limited menu, so we both chose the burger which when delivered, had the bun substituted with lettuce and nothing added to make the difference. The whole meal was a little underwhelming for a luxury venue. The price certainly didn't match the food we had. The staff however, were fantastic as was the music playing. The whole break did feel luxurious for most of the time, but just tarnished now and then with the little details. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed the relaxation that this break was intended to give. I would like to applaud the contact that we had from the very first enquiry to the time we arrived. It again made us feel valued and wanted. We would stay again, as now we know more about how to get the best value from this fabulous venue. Thanks
