Park Stables in Cheltenham offers a comfortable and well-equipped stay, with guests praising its cleanliness, cosy decor, and thoughtful touches like provided condiments and biscuits. While some minor maintenance issues and suggestions for improvement are noted, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many guests expressing a desire to return.
The property generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with several reviews highlighting its immaculate condition. However, a few guests noted areas where cleanliness could be improved, such as windows with handprints and some dust under furniture.
The location is appreciated for its proximity to Cotswold attractions and local amenities. Some guests found the nearby road to be busier than expected, which affected the tranquillity for a few.
Guests find the beds very comfortable and the property spacious. Some concerns were raised about the lack of outdoor seating comfort and noise from the boiler in one of the bedrooms.
The property is well-furnished with a fully equipped kitchen, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as plumbing problems and noisy boilers. Some guests also suggested the addition of handrails in showers for safety.
While guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like milk and biscuits, there is not enough information to determine if such gifts are consistently provided, and thus a score cannot be accurately given.
Bourton-on-the-Water 3.3 miles. For families and groups, old or young Park Stables is absolutely spot on, ideal. We love it! Set in the heart of the Cotswold's most popular region it is within a very short drive of the most well known locations (Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton on the Water). It also has a couple of very good pubs, The Lamb at Great Rissington called The Feathered Nest at Westcote are both within 5 mins drive, so in short you have everything here to create an enjoyable and memorable holiday. Recently renovated the barn, which is all on one level, is super comfy thanks to its abundance of space and quality of furnishings. So, just relax and spread out as you will feel right at home here. Mega-well insulated its cosy (with the all important wood burner) and gorgeous in winter, yet fling open the doors and windows and you can let the fresh country-air flood in. There's plenty of seating for lounging, a large dining table for hearty meals which you can whip up in the slick kitchen. The bedrooms are spacious (to the say the least) and with three bathrooms, you each get your space and privacy. Outside is a small, but perfectly adequate garden with lashings of parking. The property is in a beautiful countryside located next to a working farm, with great walks nearby including the wonderful renowned Oxfordshire Way. Heavenly and perfectly quintessential Cotswolds!

Wyck Rissington, Gloucestershire is a short drive away from the quiet village of Little Rissington. Just outside the popular destination of Bourton-on-the-Water, Little Rissington is worth visiting for its 12th century church with its moving memorial to RAF servicemen. The village styling is typical for the Cotswolds; small cottages fronted by flower-boxes. Associations are always made between the village and RAF Little Rissington, the air base which was located relatively close. The main attraction is the 12th century church, which lies apart from the village up a short path to the west of the road. On Pound Lane is a row of Cotswold stone cottages described as perhaps the best example in Gloucestershire of 17th century vernacular building.

We had everything needed thank you, apart from a wire rack for the grill but this was not essential. The boiler noise in the bedroom was very loud and woke my sister up every morning but I am not sure this is something that can be rectified. Given the time of year it would have been nice to have a Christmas tree up or maybe some lights or decorations to make it feel more festive but again not essential. We had a lovely stay, thank you and would book again if in the area.

The dining and kitchen facilities provided everything we wanted. The two main bedrooms were superb, but the third bedroom was small in comparison. Cothes storeage was poor. The 12" wide metal 'wardrobe' was more of an industrial locker, and was out of place with all the oak furniture in the rest of the property. Together with a small chest of drawers, and two even smaller bedside sets it failed to provide adequate facilities for a couple staying for 5nights. The 20yard walk through the lounge and dining areas to visit the bathroom was disappointing. The lounge furniture was tired and in need of replacement. The log burner was brilliant and much needed as the weather for our New Year stay was cold and dismal. Given the £2,000 price tag for a 5 night stay it was let down by the 'poor relation' 3rd. bedroom and the lounge funiture, and, in our view, did not represebnt good value for money. It's a great shame as it could have received a 5* rating otherwise.

Clean and comfortable. Well situated for visiting all Cotswold villages. Would definitely stay there again
