. This 16th-century Grade II listed barn has been skilfully converted to provide a unique and outstanding holiday home - with every detail having been taken into consideration from the hand-made door hinges, handles, old flagstones and oak floors, down to two doors made by Mouseman Thompson. Ancient Chinese and Roman pottery feature throughout the house, and in the entrance hall, adding an unusual touch. On the first floor, a spacious 40-foot galleried, beamed living room adds further charm. The house is furnished throughout with interesting antique furniture from the Arts and Crafts era, a movement founded by William Morris.
Old Forge Barn lies within walking distance of Stow market square, where there are excellent restaurants, old inns, galleries and many interesting shops. The towns and villages of the Cotswolds are a delight to tour, with stunning countryside in all directions. Burford has an excellent wildlife park and the pretty town itself is a pleasure to browse around, whilst at Stratford-upon-Avon, daily guided tours are offered to all the places of interest in this World Heritage City of Shakespearian fame. For alternative days out, Oxford is easily accessible, as is Cheltenham. Blenheim Palace is within 30 miles. Shops 400 yards.
