Those less keen can relax at the spa and have a treatment (at cost, by arrangement direct with owner).

Wychwood, opposite Saratoga in the courtyard, is bathed in light. It has a terrace off the drawing room, which looks down along the wisteria and apple tunnel. The large, comfortable kitchen, with a Cotswold fossil stone floor, provides the perfect setting for a lively family lunch. Double doors open in to a long, light, airy drawing room with French doors opening on to the terrace. At the far end is a golden Cotswold stone fireplace, flanked by bookshelves, and a cupboard with games. Stairs lead up to the landing, the twin room to the left is painted with a deep Farrow and Ball greenish-grey. There’s a beautiful mellow antique walnut secretaire, and the en-suite bathroom is tiled in faux Carrara marble. To the right of the landing is the double bedroom, with a mahogany four poster bed. A Victorian chair and a marble topped dressing table complete the room. Its en-suite shower room is tiled in a beige faux marble, which matches the real marble of the washstand.
