The short lane round the back that leads directly to the garden of the Kings Arms was a big bonus! Very good food there too. Ideal for dog walkers as there is a superb network of footpaths stretching out from the cottage. We walked to Hidcote National Trust Gardens through woods and across fields. Please note that only guide dogs and assistance dogs are permitted at Hidcote. We will probably return again next year to see more of the Cotswolds.

The property is full of period character, renovated to a high standard. We appreciated the fresh bread and cake left for us, thank you. The location is peaceful - very few cars passed on the lane in front, mostly just the occasional walker. The church bells are not really intrusive and add to the charm! Ideal location for exploring the Cotswolds and nearby Stratford upon Avon. We enjoyed delightful walks in the countryside straight from the front door step. The village itself is great with its local shop, deli, butchers and two pubs. All in all, April Cottage was perfect for a lovely family break in the countryside.

April Cottage was accurately described and just lovely! We often book holiday lets in different parts of the countryside, and April Cottage was one of the nicest we have experienced. It had all the character of an historic Cotswolds cottage, was tastefully decorated and had all the modern conveniences as well! We had 5 adults, an infant and two dogs and everyone was very comfortable. A cot and high chair were provided upon request at no extra charge. The kitchen was extremely spacious, well-equipped and well-organized. We easily prepared fairly elaborate meals without any difficulty, and had plenty of room at the dining table. Special touches like coffee, tea, biscuits as well as milk and juice in the fridge were unexpected and appreciated. Beds and linens were comfortable, bathrooms were modern and roomy. Underfloor heating and a lovely fireplace with a wood burner (and plenty of wood provided) kept everyone cozy as the evenings got chilly. We were impressed with how spotlessly clean the cottage wasâ¦really, kudos to the maintenance and cleaning crew! We enjoyed scenic walks directly from the cottage, as well as easy access to the pub without having to cross any busy streets with dogs and a baby! We truly had a memorable family getaway and highly recommend April Cottage.
