About this property

This beautiful 19th century Cotswold stone farmhouse is located on Todenham Manor Farm, a 900 acre family farm in the heart of the Cotswolds, home to 450 rare breed cattle, 200 pigs, a butchery and farmshop. Lower Farmhouse is in an ideal location for visiting Stratford-upon-Avon, Bourton-on-the-Water, Chipping Campden and Broadway.

Toddenham Manor Farm land was once owned by Westminster Abbey and has been producing and providing food for the local community for generations. The fabulous and popular farm shop sells a wide range of their own rare breed beef and pork, as well as lamb and poultry and seasonal meat, along with providing a selection of local, artisan produce, fruit, vegetables, bakery, dairy and larder items. Treat yourselves to one of their delicious meat boxes to cook some memorable English breakfasts and special dinners during your stay. For an extra special occasion, you are perfectly placed to book one of the seven bespoke glasshouses, positioned on a hilltop with breathtaking panoramic views at the Scenic Supper and enjoy a unique dining experience with a monthly changing seven course tasting menu using the Farm's own produce, perfect!

Lower Farmhouse is the perfect choice for families or friends looking for a base central to all the wonders of the Cotswolds along with superb accommodation including five en-suite bedrooms over the first and second floors, four of which offer the flexibility of a super-king or twin option. Gather around the large inglenook fireplace on chilly evenings and light the wood burning stove in the comfy sitting room with its exposed beams and plenty of seating. Prepare delicious meals on the Aga in the breakfast kitchen, with conventional cooking facilities also available. The sunny, south facing garden welcomes you to enjoy al-fresco dining with a charcoal barbecue provided.

Great location, best ‘welcome package’ we’ve ever had. Lovely rooms - all en-suite. Slight issue drying towels as towel rails did not heat up. Smell/fumes from the aga was quite strong at times. Well stocked kitchen with every appliance you could need

The house is fabulous and suited our party of 8 perfectly. It was clean, very well equipped and comfortable with lovely bedrooms and bathrooms in a gorgeous rural location on the cleanest farm any of us have ever seen. We all enjoyed our long weekend enormously. I have only given 4 stars because the wood burner smoked badly to begin with; the AGA (and therefore the kitchen) smelt of oil and never got up to a high heat (it didn't matter as we had taken pre-cooked food with us and there was another oven but just saying) and the radiator would not go off in one of the bedrooms so the occupants had to open all the windows. All of these things, I am sure, are easy to sort and we would have no hesitation in recommending Lower Farmhouse.

We were disappointed at the cleanliness of the cottage, which was far below our expectations. It was also a real shame that the log fire wasn’t working and the kitchen equipment was so old and tatty. All in all we had an okay stay but for the money paid it really wasn’t up to scratch - poor value for money. Happy to provide more details and photographs if you’d like them, just contact me.
