About this property

Settled in the charming village of Willersey, Gloucestershire on the edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is the Grade II listed Rex Cottage. This historic, Cotswold stone-fronted cottage benefits from a spacious rear courtyard with furniture, roadside parking, and a welcoming interior with wonderful character features including exposed beams, high ceilings and original iron studded front door, woven throughout; the perfect setting for families or friends looking to explore the Cotswolds. Cross the threshold to find the sitting room which is undoubtedly the heart of the home, unwind on the plush sofa in front of the Smart TV and the soothing, crackling warmth of the woodburning stove. Or alternatively, head into the fully-equipped kitchen fitted with matching Smeg appliances to rustle up a hearty meal that the whole group can enjoy either in the kitchen or the formal dining room. Later, step out into the private courtyard where you can soak up the last of the sun with a glass of wine in hand, the perfect place to watch the stars fill the sky. When sleep calls, head inside to wash off the day in the ground-floor bathroom before slopinging off to sleep in the ground-floor king-size with en-suite, king-size or twin bedroom. The charming village has a beautiful duck pond, playground and petrol station, enjoy a well-earned break from the kitchen at the The Bell Inn which serves delicious pub food, or venture into the nearby village of Broadway which offers more variety. Outdoor enthusiasts will be in their element in the Cotswolds AONB which is famed for its picturesque hills and vast meadows housing a myriad of walks and trails, with breath-taking views, designed to be explored. Or explore the many grand residences woven throughout; meander the conserved Jacobean garden at the impressive Chastleton House, tour the charming 16th-century Snowshill Manor and Garden or explore the historic 4th-century remains of the Chedworth Roman Villa which has its own informative museum. Stratford-upon-Avon is also easily accessible by car and guests can lose themselves in its literary foundations at Shakespeare's birthplace, Shakespeare’s New Place as well as visit the MAD museum, Magic Alley and Stratford Butterfly Farm. Make memories at Rex Cottage.

Located on the boundary between Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, the picturesque Cotswold village of Willersey is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (aonb). It's about two miles from the quaint village of Broadway, where you can enjoy its two cosy pubs and well-stocked shop. The village is conveniently located near several hiking trails, including the Cotswold Way, the Heart of England Way, and Monach's Way, making it a great starting point for hikes of all lengths and difficulties. Broadway, "The Jewel of the Cotswolds," is a picture-perfect English village with a long and storied past, dating back to Roman times, as well as a fantastic selection of one-of-a-kind shops, galleries, restaurants, and hotels. The Lygon Arms, a favourite destination for generations, now offers spa services, which guests can enjoy during scheduled visits. Located in the Vale of Evesham, the charming market town of Evesham is just a short drive away, and it features a wide variety of establishments, such as cafes, antique shops, specialty stores, a movie theatre with a classic art deco design, and a bustling arts centre. Among the many black-and-white timbered structures in Evesham is the Market Square merchant's house, which dates back to the 15th century. The National Trust owns a 600-year-old inn in the nearby village of Bretforton, which serves as the venue for numerous annual music, folk, culinary, and drink festivals. Willersey serves as an excellent home base for exploring the many quaint villages of the Cotswolds, as well as Cheltenham and the Gold Cup horse races and Worcester and its magnificent cathedral, both of which are located in the vicinity and are well known for their fruit growing and market gardening. The town of Stratford upon Avon, where William Shakespeare was born, is easily accessible by car and is rich in history thanks to its many museums, theatres, and the nearby River Avon. The location is fantastic since it offers everything for everyone, and there are numerous NT properties to enjoy.
