Luxury Beaminster Cottage sleeping up to 2 guests

A cosy, pet friendly retreat for couples, set in an aonb, and ideal for exploring the area.
Formerly the village forge, this cosily renovated and well furnished holiday hideaway nestles in the sleepy village of Lower Wraxall. It adjoins another cottage and is set opposite the owners’ farmhouse, in a ½ acre of private, partly wooded garden leading down to a stream. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there is an abundance of wildlife to be found locally; footpaths and bridleways, making it a perfect location for exploring deep into the Dorset countryside. There is good access across Eggardon Hill to the World Heritage coastline at Burton Bradstock or to the harbour and beaches of West Bay. Also within easy reach are Sherborne, Bridport, Yeovil and county town of Dorchester. Breakfast and evening meals can be provided by prior arrangement. Shop 1 mile.
All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with beams and French doors. Four steps to 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. Wooden floors throughout.
Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. DVD. CD. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Wi-fi. Large garden with terrace and furniture. Parking. Toni – 12 Nov 2018
"Last minute booking to avoid some of the 5th Nov fireworks. Lovely cottage in a quiet location, but not too far from many interesting places to visit. Our standard poodle loved galloping about the garden and we were thrilled to see nuthatch, woodpecker and marsh tits visiting the feeders. Nice touch from owner with local eggs and biscuits etc. Will book again."

"We described S19623 as an absolute gem !! In such a tranquil place this idyllic cottage felt like a home from home !! We enjoyed such a relaxing four night break we are already recommending it to family & friends !! Without doubt a revisit is on our tick list !! Judy Thompson made us feel very welcome & we thank her for the eggs, milk, biscuits, tea & coffee which we found on arrival !! Only one slight grumble... Why such a huge coffee table for two people ?? Overall a simply marvelous place !!"

"This is the fifth time we have stayed in this cottage in the past two years so I think that says it all."
John – 22 Sep 2018
"Very quaint and comfortable cottage in a quiet hamlet, a good base for travelling around Dorset. We stayed in this cottage 2 years ago, the garden furniture was very old and not in a good condition then, but it was still there this year! There is very little storage for clothes. Water pressure very poor. Lovely touches like leaving flowers on the table, local eggs and Dorset biscuits also left for us. Left nuts for feeding the garden birds another nice touch. Just felt the cottage seemed a little neglected, particularly the garden furniture. Nice cushions provided for the chairs, but didn’t like sitting on the chairs as they were covered in lichen."

"Ideal base for exploring Dorset or just putting your feet up & enjoying the peace & quiet. Great place to recharge the batteries"

Lynne – 7 Apr 2018
"We had a wonderful stay in S19623. It was very well equipped, well heated and beautifully presented in a picturesque part of Dorset, within an easy drive of Bridport, Dorchester and the coast. Plenty of walks to choose from - the 2k walk to the Fox and Hounds a favourite! Lovely welcome gift on arrival - definitely could have stayed much longer! Thank you"
Jane – 4 Mar 2018
"This is the third time we have stayed at S19623 and it's definitely not going to be the last as we have booked to come for seven days in may and a long weekend in October .we love everything about the cottage from the hostess to the accommodation, to the bed (what a delight that is .it's like sleeping on a cloud )to the birds feeding in the back garden.we are so looking forward to may"

"lovely cottage in a small hamlet but only eight miles from weymouth lyme bridport lulworth cove and lots more dog loved the beaches great week"
Richard – 11 Jan 2018
"Spent a wonderful second Christmas week here and cannot fault the cottage, the owners and the location. Such a warm feel from this place. Plenty of walks with our dog in the surrounding countryside and it is such a quiet, peaceful place you really don't want to leave! The owners are so helpful and friendly and they had homemade mince pies and Christmas decorations in the cottage on arrival. The local pub is a very short drive away with local beers and food. This is our favourite 'get away from it' place and will hopefully return again very soon. With the huge amount of wildlife, birds and squirrels out by the patio area, the morning chorus is the highlight of our visit.......getting up early has never felt so good! Thank you for another lovely break."
