The accommodation was excellent. The bed was comfy, there was loads of hot water, the heating worked well and the kitchen was reasonably stocked. It wasn't very big but that didn't really affect us.

Lodge frustratingly disappointing, and it is only really attention to detail. Kitchen is adequately equipped, bathroom had recently been freshened up and the bedding and towels were bright white, fresh and clean. However, the the double bed is reinforced with props underneath and is desperate need of a new mattress (it was so uncomfortable and offered no support at all). The floor underneath was very dusty, grit in the corners of the room and cobwebs around the picture above the bed and in the corners just above head height add to the impression that little, if any, cleaning takes place in this room other than a bedding change. Second bedroom was the same although neither child complained about the comfort of their bed. The bathroom sink had black grime around the overflow hole and the lodge as a whole smelt quite musty. The floors in all rooms weren't properly clean - mainly seeds and bits from trees/outside (so bring slippers or some shoes for indoors) and the thresholds between rooms had a build up of dirt which had clearly been building up over time. The rug in the sitting area needed hovering. It is frustrating because these are all such simple things to put right and would have significantly improved our stay and overall satisfaction.

Just not what we expected, uncomfortable and poor site facilities. Sent complaints to site manager no response
