Ivy Todd Barn is highly praised for its peaceful, rural setting and comfortable accommodations. Guests appreciate the warm welcome from the friendly owners and the presence of animals on the working farm. The barn's underfloor heating, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen are frequently mentioned, as are the beautiful views and the opportunity to relax by the fire. The property's remoteness is seen as a positive, offering a tranquil escape, though a car is necessary for exploring the area.
The barn is consistently described as clean upon arrival, with only one mention of cobwebs suggesting room for improvement. Overall, guests are satisfied with the cleanliness.
The location is appreciated for its tranquility and rural charm, with beautiful countryside and wildlife. It is remote, requiring a car for access, but this is seen as a benefit by those seeking a peaceful retreat.
Guests find the barn very comfortable, with special mentions of the underfloor heating, comfortable beds, and cosy atmosphere. The only minor issue raised was the temperature during a winter stay.
The barn is well-equipped for self-catering, with a good kitchen and comfortable layout. A few minor maintenance issues were noted, but they did not significantly impact the overall experience.
Guests mention receiving a warm welcome, including cakes and fresh farm produce. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it should be noted that such gifts are offered at the owners' discretion and may not be a consistent feature for all stays.

We had such a lovely weekend at Ivy Todd Barn. Everything was perfect! The Barn has everything you need, the beds we’re comfortable, and the entire barn was so warm as it has underfloor heating (too warm to use the log burner) it’s out of the way which may not suit some people (you need to drive to the local pub which offers a very nice Sunday roast) but for us it was perfect to get away from it all, yet only 30 minutes from Cambridge. It is a working farm so there are cows and horses. The owners were very friendly. Overall would highly recommend.

We had a friends reading retreat and it was perfect. Lovely house, beautiful surroundings, very relaxing for our days of reading by the fire.

we loved the barn, our hosts, the setting and the views and the banana loaf. it was a little tricky to find and we hadn't realised Essex had so much lovely countryside and narrow country lanes. it was lovely to be so quiet and to hear and see so many birds and deer and the friendly well behaved dogs and the horses.
