No. 3 is a spacious, two bedroom cottage, superbly furnished throughout and with excellent modern facilities and equipment. It also benefits from a separate secure store for bikes and other equipment. The lounge, front bedroom and front terrace enjoy spectacular views over the Skiddaw range of fells and the rear terrace gives direct access to a bridleway from where it’s a short walk to Thornthwaite, a mile to Braithwaite (with a village shop, cafés and three pubs serving good food and real ale) and a scenic uphill walk to Whinlatter and the Forest Centre. The immediate area is great for walking, mountain biking and cycling with easy access to the Newlands Valley, Borrowdale and the Western Lakes. The close proximity of Bassenthwaite Lake, famous for its nesting ospreys, offers opportunities for swimming, fishing, canoeing or sailing.
