This former farm workers cottage dating back over 250 years has been sympathetically restored to offer cosy and characterful accommodation. Located at the foot of Blencathra, 5 miles from Keswick. Threlkeld is steeped in history with its church dating back to 1573, and its two pubs back to 1688.The pubs serve good food and real ale and are only a few minutes walk from the cottage. Blease Cottage is an ideal location to enjoy the peaceful countryside with its many walks from the door, as well as golf and cycling opportunities. There is walking from the cottage to suit all, a level railway path into Keswick, walks on the fells around the village and more challenging walks up onto Blencathra and Skiddaw. The village welcomes holiday makers and has a good bus service to Keswick and Penrith. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 330 yards.

Threlkeld was a great place to stay with lots of local walks. with a good pub and a great cafe in the village. The cottage was as described (compact and stairs were steep at the top). Double bed mattress was quite firm. Only one parking space for the cottage but there was some street parking on other roads in the village and a carpark at the top of Blease Road. Was nice to be able to sit in the front garden. Was no access to the back garden which was used by the neighbouring cottage so i was quite glad they did not use it much. We felt it was good value for money.
