Regular visitors to Keswick will appreciate the excellent location of Briar Rigg as a base for a Lakeland holiday. Situated on the edge of town, and therefore in a more peaceful location, it is still only 10 minutes’ walk through Fitz Park to the town centre. The footpath leading to Latrigg and Skiddaw starts outside the property, with an inn and café both only 400 yards away. Keswick Leisure Pool is at the opposite end of the road and the property enjoys very easy access off the A66. Briar Rigg is a four bedroom, semi-detached property with the added benefits of three bathrooms, a conservatory, a garage and shed for bikes, as well as a good size garden, parking for four medium size cars and additional on road parking. The accommodation is both stylish and comfortable and is equally suitable for two families or groups of walkers. Shop and restaurant ½ mile, pub 400 yards.

Briar Rigg is in a brilliant location, round the corner from Fitz Park, almost at the start of the footpath up Latrigg and Skiddaw, and ten minutes walk from the town centre. The property is unexpectedly roomy, whereas purpose built holiday accommodation can be tight. The accommodation is well laid out with a large kitchen / diner and glass doors into a fair sized living room and a conservatory, which means larger parties can enjoy being together. The showers are newish and work well, but the plumbing can be eccentric. While the kitchen and bathrooms were very clean, the property could do with a good dust and clean by this stage in the year (late summer). Many of the fittings (e.g. kitchen cupboard doors) are showing wear and tear and the property is becoming a bit shabby inside. The front room in particular needs redecorating and the carpet replacing. The double bed in the second bedroom was reported as being uncomfortable, but the sofas in the front room are the first comfortable ones I've found in holiday accommodation. The house has recently changed hands, and isn't available next year, so the new owner may be intending to live there or refurbish it to rent out.

This is the second time we have stayed in Briar Rigg, I felt that the standards were less this time maybe because the property has been sold. We only had one working oven which bothered me the most as really hard to cook for 8 people, would recommend taking your air fryer.

Great location, but cleanliness leaves much to be desired. Many cobwebs, mattresses in twin room stained, living room carpet stained & 2 yellow chairs wobbly with screws loose.
