Briargarth in Keswick is highly praised for its superb location, just a short walk from the town centre and local amenities, making it ideal for exploring the area. Guests appreciate the comfortable, cosy atmosphere, secure garden for dogs, and off-road parking. Many mention the property is well-equipped and generally clean, with several returning guests. Some reviews note areas for improvement, such as occasional lapses in cleaning, minor maintenance issues, and limited welcome packs. Overall, the property offers a pleasant and convenient base for a Lake District holiday, with positives outweighing the negatives.
Most guests found the property clean and tidy, with particular praise for the beds and general presentation. However, several reviews mention lapses in cleaning standards, such as dirty patio doors, old rugs, and occasional dog odours. These inconsistencies have been noted by repeat visitors.
The location is consistently highlighted as excellent, being quiet yet only a few minutes' walk from Keswick town centre, shops, buses, and walks. Off-road parking is a significant bonus in an area where parking is often difficult.
Guests frequently describe the cottage as comfortable, cosy, and homely, with exceptionally comfortable beds and effective heating. Some minor issues, such as the need for updated bedrooms or more spacious living areas, are occasionally mentioned but do not detract significantly from overall comfort.
The property is generally well-equipped, with a secure garden, off-road parking, and kitchen appliances. However, guests have noted maintenance issues such as garden gates, decking, and occasional problems with heating or showers. Some also mention a need for more kitchen utensils and better Wi-Fi.
Several guests appreciated the welcome pack and thoughtful touches like dog bowls and throws, though some found the welcome pack limited. It should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Had a brilliant week at Briargarth, place was lovely and clean and lovely gift pack on arrival. Lovely garden for the dog and quite a few bird feeders which we filled a few times while there and hope it was ok that my husband mowed the lawn (loves gardening).Everything you needed was there and clean, beds comfortable bedding nice . We had one problem with the shower tray not running away and filling up, phoned the office which is in Keswick and spoke to a lovely gentleman ,explained and within a half hour someone was there and fixed the problem...O and someone mentioned bathroom window doesn't close....does now ,been fixed .
