Carthwaite is a four-bedroom town house, superbly equipped and furnished throughout, ideally suited for six with the added flexibility of a seventh bed. Situated in a quiet residential area but only 5 minutes level walk into the town centre, it provides easy access to shops, restaurants, pubs and visitor attractions.
The four bedrooms comprise two doubles, (one with en-suite), one twin and one single room. The main bathroom has a shower over the bath. The property also has a downstairs toilet and washbasin, making it ideal for the larger family or two smaller families sharing.
Patio doors from the living room open onto a small rear garden which is enclosed, well sheltered and south facing. On sunny days it is a sun trap, providing an ideal place to relax, either in the morning, lunchtime or especially in the afternoon after a rewarding walk.
A new kitchen was fitted in January 2020. It is well equipped with electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and washer/dryer. A combined fridge/freezer contains four fridge shelves and one drawer and three freezer drawers.
A small car park at the rear provides one allocated space to the property and is situated in the corner of the car park, directly opposite Carthwaite’s rear garden gate. On-street parking is also available. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
There are low banisters at the property.

Great house, with everything we needed for an active holiday with easy access into Keswick. Rooms are comfortable and everything worked well with helpful things like coat hooks at the entrance. Location is perfect, an easy walk into town. Only issue is the small parking space made even tighter by a wall storage unit in the way. And the right size double sheet would be great.

Second time we’ve chosen here, works well for our family and bringing my mum along too.Would welcome a knife block for sharp knives rather than in drawers (we had young children) and potentially a couple of glass flutes for fizz! Notice board could do with updating featuring a message dated 2yrs ago.However everything we needed, bonus of a parking space and walks from the door so barely moved it! Would book again!Cottages.com very responsive and replaced a broken toaster on the day!

This is the second time we have stayed here and we would come again. Though the house might not win any prizes for style, it is clean and comfortable and your classic home from home. The house is well equipped with many useful touches such as bedside lights, a washer-drier and provision of dishwasher and laundry tabs. As someone who comes to Keswick every year, I can confidently say this is one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in and the shower over the bath is one of the best showers I’ve used. The sheets on the bed didn’t quite fit so kept coming off, and we had to use the dishwasher or wash up after each meal, in order to have sufficient cutlery and mugs etc for the next meal. Nevertheless, this is a practical and comfortable holiday home that we would recommend. Also, the landlord and the agent were super quick to respond to our needs. Thank you.
