Fairholme sits above Comb Beck on the slopes of Whinlatter Forest, in the little known hamlet of Seldom Seen and adjoining the village of Thornthwaite. Fairholme is the end cottage of a small terrace of properties which were converted from a former water driven saw mill dating back to the 1700’s. This is a truly tranquil location for those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, yet is less than 4 miles from a great range of amenities and visitor attractions in Keswick, and 1½ miles from Braithwaite, which has a village shop, pubs and restaurants. A gallery and tea room can also be found 100 yards from the property. The Whinlatter Visitor Centre, in England’s only true mountain forest, is the hub for many activities, including the Whinlatter Wildplay trail designed for children, the longest mountain bike trail in England, forest walks and an osprey viewing point. It also boasts an information centre, forest shop and café. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

A very comfortable & very well equipped property. I've not been in a property with four TVs before. Also an air fryer. Comfortable matresses. Warm.Very pretty area close to Keswick. Lots to do in the area.I'd recommend it.

Lovely cottage. Very Cosy (warms up very quick if you are there and need heating) well equipped kitchen. Contact from owner to check all was ok, which was great, bottle on the table a nice touch. It’s also a good location. You can park right outside the door. Only a few minutes drive into Keswick as well. Local gallery in village does very lovely cream tea. We would book this again.
