This is the perfect romantic retreat for a couple wishing to explore the Lake District, with a welcoming hot tub to return to.. 1 step to entrance.

No smoking. Please note: There are 2 steps in the courtyard.. Whatever your definition of romantic is, this will certainly tick all the boxes. If it is relating to being with a loved one, then what could be better than snuggling together watching the glow from the wood burner, or sat underneath the stars in a warm hot tub gently bubbling away.
If you see it as exciting or mysterious, then a gentle walk to the Fairy Glen is a magical place, with plunge pools in deep gorges, and boulders and trees for climbing. For most, it is seen as a dreamy time spent away with a partner, and here is that place. There are five bars and restaurants within a mile of Field House Cottage, so the well-equipped kitchen will not distract you from your time together. Why not pamper yourselves at the local spa for a little bit of something special to complete your visit, or book a table for two at the fine dining restaurant.
Back at the cottage, the king sized four poster bed looks out towards the fells, and the en-suite shower will soon revive you. Outside, the private enclosed courtyard garden has breathtaking views of Maiden Moor and High Spy. For those who enjoy adventure, walking these will be stimulation of the mind and body, or for something gentler, hire a boat on Derwent Water and spend time together in the midst of the beautiful mountains.
If after all of this you still miss the hustle and bustle of the crowds, the nearby popular market town of Keswick has an abundance of outdoor shops, restaurants and tea rooms - there is nothing better than cosying up in the warmth with a piece of cake or basking in the sun with a scone in hand. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Booked for my husbands 50th Birthday. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. A beautiful cosy cottage with everything you need and more. We felt very welcome the moment we arrived. What can we say but Wow! From before arriving hosts Hazel and Steve were extremely helpful and gave a wonderful welcome. They are so helpful and the welcome pack was very much appreciated. The attention to detail to make your stay the best it could possibly be is thanks to Hazel and Steve. We stayed in the one bedroomed cottage at Field house in August 2026 which was impeccably clean and the attention and thought that was given to every single detail. We were blown away from the moment we arrived. It was absolutely delightful and so cosy. The hot tub was extremely welcoming after walking around Grasmere lake, and enjoying watching the eclipse. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone that wants a home from home in a great location to explore the lakes.
