Hindscarth is a second-floor apartment which has been refurbished in Nov 2025. The second bedroom has been enlarged and Hindscarth now hosts four guests. It is light and airy with beautiful views across the town to the fells from three sides. At least 15 Wainwrights are visible including Catbells, Grisedale Pike, and Skiddaw. The apartment has an air of calm and tranquillity - perhaps because of the views. Hindscarth is situated just off the main street and only minutes’ walk from the town centre with its abundance of restaurants, tea rooms, pubs and shops. With its convenient private parking space next to the building entrance what more could you ask for in this bustling and thriving lakes town. A 10-minute stroll takes you to Hope Park on the shores of beautiful Lake Derwentwater, or Fitz Park 10 minutes’ walk across the Greta has a children’s playground. Shops (Booths, Coop) are 2 minutes’ walk. Keswick nestles between imposing Skiddaw and the beautiful Derwentwater and is well known as one of the main centres of outdoor activities in the UK. For those who like that adrenalin rush or the peace of the hills, this is the perfect spot.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hindscarth. Its location was perfect for getting around with the bus station just across the road and the shops close by. There were many places to choose from to eat & we had some lovely meals out. The accommodation was lovely and clean & well equipped with everything you needed. Our only criticism with it was that on the website it says there is a welcome pack but on arrival didn’t find one , also the front door had a problem with the lock so we had to get in via the back door which made it a bit of a trek when you just arrive with all your cases & bags. There was a note on the door saying a locksmith had been called but for the 5 days we were there nothing changed. We would definitely recommend the accommodation and if we were to go back to Keswick we would stay there again.

I have stayed at Hindscarth on numerous occassions,the location is convenient for local shops,transport and the views from all aspects are simply stunning .The flat itself has benefited from a refresh/update by the new owners so very comfortable with everything you need for a walking break in the lakes.The only thing i would suggest,given the recent hot weather is a stand alone fan would have been useful to keep the flat cool but will undoubtedly book again & would happily recommend
