Rosthwaite 1.3 miles. This gorgeous, terraced cottage is located in the pretty hamlet of Seatoller in the beautiful Borrowdale area, one of the most beautiful parts of the Lake District, literally at the start of the Honister Pass and in the shadows of Scafell Pike, Englands highest peak. This special location is surrounded by stunning scenery which will enchant every guest, whatever their age! On the ground floor of this lovely cottage are a fitted kitchen and a cosy sitting room with a dining area and woodburning stove, where you can put up your feet after a day exploring the fells.
There are two comfortable bedrooms, and a family bathroom. At the rear of the cottage is an enclosed patio area and across a path is a further lawned area that extends to the beck which flows constantly what a spot to enjoy this breathtakingly beautiful location! Anyone wishing to get out and about on the fells, there is an outdoor activity centre just down the lane which offers a wide selection of adventures! Don't forget the Honister Pass, the slate mines and the Via Ferrata, there's so much to see here! Literally, just a minute's walk away, during the summer months, you can take an evening meal at a local guest house or pop down the valley to Stonethwaite, and enjoy a real traditional English inn.

It wasn't clean. However, location was great, check-in was easy etc. The hot water ran out very easily. For these reasons we probably wouldn't return.

General condition of accommodation ok. Kitchen well stocked with all you need to cook etc. Peeling wall paper in one bedroom and holes in wall in main bedroom from where a radiator used to be attached to the wall. on last day stripped the bed as requested and the mattress was minging. Covered in horrible sweat/wee/not sure what stains. Felt gross as Iâd slept on that bed for 4 nights. No mattress protection between mattress and bed sheet. Had plumber randomly trying to get in on first night at 7pm (Iâd not reported any problems and there werenât any all week I was there) didnât let him in as was staying on my own and didnât know him from Adam. He said he thought the place was empty. General feeling is cottage ok, but needs some attention. Felt like owners couldnât care less about the condition of the place as long as people are still paying to stay there. I have submitted a complaint with photos of peeling wallpaper/stained mattress.
