Oak Lea is an end terraced Lakeland stone property with the accommodation laid out over three floors, with each floor having mountain views. The furnishings are all very good quality, the bathroom and en-suite are both fully tiled and the kitchen is well-equipped.
Keswick is an excellent base for your holiday in the Northern Lakes, as there is so much to do, from walking to mountain biking, sailing, rock climbing or ghyll scrambling; there is surely something for everyone. For the less active, there are trips around the lake, two parks with bowling greens and mini and crazy golf, a theatre, leisure pool, numerous visitor attractions and great outdoor activity shops, as well as pubs and restaurants for everyone to enjoy.

This is the third year we've stayed in this property. The property is well situated near the town centre. The property is well equipped in terms of kitchen equipment. On surface level, the property is clean, however, it isn't hard to look and see how much dust was around. Especially on bedframes, around the bunk bed and a number of surfaces. I do think this should be a basic part of cleaning before new guests come in. No washing up liquid was provided and there is a dishwasher but again, no dishwasher tablets were provided. The sponge for washing up was poor quality and only lasted a few days before needing to buy more. We were left two toilet rolls which was not enough for five of us for a week so we had to buy some more. For the price we pay, we do think these basic things should be provided. The mattresses aren't particularly comfy, in fact, this year we took our own mattress topper which did help. Again for the price, we shouldn't have to do this.The kitchen bin lid needs a new flap, as it did last year, so we were surprised this hadn't been fixed. One of the windows on the stairs has a small hole in it which really needs fixing! The windows are all single glaze and a small amount of wind can make them rattle so may not be useful for light sleepers. Overall, I would recommend the house but it needs some financial investment to bring it up to a standard worthy of the price.

Fantastic week spent enjoying the beautiful and stunning sights of the Lake District. Oak Lea is perfectly situated within easy flat walking distance of Keswick. Parking is on the streets surrounding the property is difficult occasionally depending on the time of day however we always managed to get pretty close. Oak Lea is extremely comfortable with all facilities in good condition.
