Welcome to Pitcairn Cottage, a charming, fully double-glazed Lakeland stone cottage built in 1892, offering a comfortable and practical base in central Keswick. The recent upgrade, including the addition of an en suite bathroom on the first floor, makes the cottage particularly well-suited to small groups and families.
Located on a quiet residential street just off the town centre, you can leave the car behind and explore Keswick on foot. Shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants and supermarkets are all within a short walk, along with Derwentwater and a wide range of outdoor activities.
Keswick is a vibrant Lakeland market town with plenty to see and do. There are two supermarkets within walking distance, along with parks offering children’s play areas, mini-golf, tennis and weekly parkruns. Indoor attractions such as the Theatre by the Lake, the Retro Zone Museum, Puzzling Place and the Derwent Pencil Museum are also close by.
Nearby Derwentwater offers lakeside walks, boat hire and beautiful scenery. The area is ideal for walking, running and cycling, with routes from the door including Cat Bells, Skiddaw and Latrigg.
For days out further afield, visit Bassenthwaite Lake and The Lake District Wildlife Park (approx. 8 miles), or The Lakes Distillery for tours and tastings. The beach at St Bees and the city of Carlisle are both just under an hour away.

Perfect location for the event we attended. Clean & well presented, quiet & safe. Perhaps some more detail about difficulty to park at very busy times as we had to park a distance away.

Stayed here over the bank holiday weekend and it was perfect for us. We came without a car and it was great walking distance to the hikes we did + close to the town centre & a food shop. No complaints, the place was clean and a lovely little cottage. Great value for money.
