Please note: There is a river alongside the property. Steep, turning staircase up to bedrooms and side entrance into utility room/ hall and kitchen area is accessed via unusual split level steps, Extra care to be taken.. Situated beside the River Greta in the heart of Keswick, Riverside Cottage is a characterful cottage, just 15 minutes’ walk from the facilities and amenities. Plus, there are walks direct from the doorstep to nearby Latrigg, Skiddaw and Blencathra. Derwentwater and the ‘Theatre by the Lake’ are a short stroll through the beautifully manicured Hope Park Memorial Gardens, with mini golf, crazy golf and putting. Regular launch trips around the lake are available each day, with numerous drop-off points if you wish to continue on foot. Keswick is renowned for its spectacular setting, surrounded by mountains, a vast array of outdoor activity shops and a great selection of pubs and restaurants.

This cottage was fantastic! I don't quite understand why there are some negative reviews, as we had a fantastic time and found the cottage to be faultless. It was cosy, comfy, clean and spacious. The location was perfect and peaceful. The parking was great. We have a very big car and it did take a little time at the start of the week and we had to enter slowly but really, it is fine. The access road is totally fine too and is no more narrow than a standard country road. There is also a bus stop at the top of the road- less than 5 min walk away. This is great if you don't want to stress about parking or driving as you can access most places via bus. The kitchen area was well equipped and it allowed us to cook most breakfasts and dinners in the cottage. We will 100% be returning to Keswick and this lovely cottage.

On arriving at the destination we had trouble finding the cottage due to confusing instructions. We were told it was named 6 The Forge but the sign on the cottage was 6 Riverside Cottage. We were also confronted by the spectacle of a massive concrete flyover above the surrounding cottages. What a eyesore. This wasn't mentioned or pictured when booking on line and this should really be in the details. We would not have booked this cottage had we been made aware of this. The cottage was a lovely cottage and we had no issues with the cottage itself.

Great cottage and easy walk into Keswick. The cottage was nice and warm, very comfortable and well equipped.Parking spaces provided but very awkward to access via tight stone walls.Left the car at cottage all week and used buses from Keswick.
