Guests say

Riverside Cottage is praised for its beautiful riverside location, easy access to Keswick, and dog-friendly features. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, cosy atmosphere, and scenic walks nearby. While many found the cottage clean and comfortable, some noted issues with heating, maintenance, and occasional cleanliness lapses. Parking can be challenging, and the twin beds are less comfortable for adults. Overall, the cottage offers a charming base for exploring the area, especially for dog owners, with most guests keen to return.

Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, but several mentioned issues such as dog hair on sofas, dust on lamps, and mould in the bathroom and landing. Cleanliness was generally good, but not consistently excellent.

The location is highly praised, with guests loving the riverside setting, beautiful views, and easy, traffic-free walks into Keswick. The proximity to local amenities and scenic walks is a standout feature.

Guests found the cottage cosy and the main bed comfortable, but noted that the twin beds were uncomfortable for adults. Heating issues were mentioned, especially on arrival in cold weather, but the cottage was warm once heated.

The cottage is well equipped, with a functional kitchen and dog-friendly amenities. However, some guests reported maintenance issues such as old windows, lack of storage, dated bathroom, and awkward parking.

Some thoughtful touches for dogs, such as bowls and a ball thrower, were appreciated, but these are not guaranteed. Basic supplies like toilet rolls and bin bags were limited, requiring guests to purchase extras.

Great cottage and easy walk into Keswick. The cottage was nice and warm, very comfortable and well equipped.Parking spaces provided but very awkward to access via tight stone walls.Left the car at cottage all week and used buses from Keswick.

We loved staying at this lovely cozy cottage. In such an amazing location with beautiful views. The cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed. It was such a shame the weather was so bad, so we definitely want to return in the summer months to take advantage of the garden. The only downside was the garden wasn't secure for the dog to go out alone.

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Exactly what we were looking for to start the New Year and really switch off and relax. The cottage is around a 20 minute walk to the centre which can be accessed from a path near by which was ideal for us, we stayed with our toddler and dog so it did mean carrying the pushchair up the steps but it wasn't too difficult. Really dog friendly cottage with bowls and even a ball/ball thrower to use if needed.Just one big thing to note for the cottage itself, when we arrived it was -6 degrees outside and there was no heating on as the boiler had been switched off. Once we got this on, it took around 6 hours for the house to start to feel warm which meant we were wearing coats indoors all night, not ideal when you have a 2 year old in tow. But once we got this working it was perfect. We would stay again.
