Only the finest materials have been used, from travertine floor tiles to slate work surfaces and quality bathroom fittings. Combined with luxury furnishings and accessories and a wealth of appliances to create a unique self catering ’cottage’ of an excellent standard. Situated on the bank of the fast flowing Applethwaite Gill at the foot of the mighty ’Skiddaw’, in the peaceful hamlet of Applethwaite, 1 mile from Keswick. Well what can we say - Eva’s 60th Birthday and what a marvellous property to celebrate - The  house had everything we needed, space, superb equipped rooms - super efficient central heating and log fire (we brought loads).

The kitchen had all we needed to ensure the cuisine was up to scratch - It was the coldest winter most of us can remember and to walk across the ice of Derwentwater to the centre Island was " memories are made of this" Congratulations to the owners of Mill Race and Cumbrian Cottages for one of our holidays to remember for a life time.

This will be collected automatically 7 days prior to arrival and refunded (unless a damage claim is received) 7 days after the end of your stay. Please note that your refunded security deposit will take 3-5 days to appear in your account. For your convenience, we’ll take this payment from the last card used to make payment to us. If you would prefer to use a different method of payment, please let us know before the security deposit is due.
