Tommy’s Cottage is one of our most luxurious Keswick cottages and no expense was spared in renovating and furnishing this Lakeland stone fronted cottage. An interior designer assisted with the refurbishment and attention to detail was given in every area, including feature papered walls, coordinated fabrics, oak bedroom furniture and fully tiled bathrooms. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, guests with mobility problems will appreciate the ground floor en-suite bedroom. The cottage is 5 minutes level walk from the town centre and has a pleasant rear courtyard, a sun trap which is perfect for dining al fresco. Overall Tommy's is excellent, the beds and the lounge seating are extremely comfortable. Our issue was with the general cleanliness. There was a thick layer of dust on quite a lot of surfaces, eg downstairs bedroom mirror, the corners of the TV stand, the kettle stand and the stacked place mats on the table. The kitchen window was filthy on the inside.The shower in the downstairs bedroom is showing mould, particularly on the shower head, and very dirty chrome trim around the base. The bathroom tidybin had not been emptied Tommy's could benefit from a good deep clean.On a separate note there are no recycling bins, although all the other properties on the street have them, but there is a grey (waste) wheeliebin.There was no information folder, with instructions for the cooker oven, dishwasher etc, although the was one for the microwave left on top.I have photos I could upload.

We spent a lovely 4 days at Tommy’s cottage. The cottage had been renovated to a high standard/quality. Kitchen was fully equipped, the freezer appears a bit lob sided due to water damage. The bathrooms cleanliness in particular were a let down to the lovely cottage, the upstairs toilet needed a good scrub with the toilet brush, with also black water marks under the flush rim. (Had appropriate cleaner been available, this would have been cleaned), also black around the taps and orangey mould in the tile grout. Venetian blinds needed a good scrub too. I would’ve hoped that any cleaners would have addressed this prior to the start of the busy season. The Roman blind pulley was broken, so didn't roll up.
