Guests say
Helvellyn Lodge offers a peaceful and scenic retreat, with guests praising its spacious lodges, beautiful surroundings, and excellent hot tub and sauna facilities. The staff are frequently described as friendly and helpful, and the lodges are generally well-equipped for a comfortable stay. While some guests noted issues with uncomfortable sofas and beds, occasional cleanliness concerns, and a lack of privacy between lodges, the overall experience is positive, with many visitors eager to return.
Most guests found the lodges clean and well-presented, though a few reported issues such as arriving to a dirty lodge or poor bathroom cleanliness. The majority of reviews, however, mention high standards of cleaning and plenty of towels provided.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful scenery, and peaceful setting, making it ideal for a relaxing getaway. Guests also appreciated the proximity to nature and the estate's unique features, such as roaming peacocks.
While many guests found the lodges spacious and comfortable, several reviews mention uncomfortable or hard sofas and beds, and some noted that beds were singles pushed together. Despite this, the overall comfort level was satisfactory for most visitors.
Facilities such as hot tubs, saunas, and well-equipped kitchens are frequently highlighted as excellent. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, such as worn flooring and non-working hot tub lights, but these did not significantly detract from the overall experience.
Guests appreciated thoughtful touches like welcome packs and treats for dogs, though it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed. The staff's helpfulness and responsiveness also contributed positively to guests' experiences.

Accommodation was spacious and comfortable- couple of minor things were hot tub lights not working, bed was slightly shorter than the tallest person and it smelt faintly of dogs from previous occupants. Much more positive things to outweigh the negative though.
