The Retreat is in an idyllic location for anyone wanting to ramble or climb mountains as they are literally on your doorstep. Wastwater Lake is a short distance from the cottage which offers an amazing view and the option to engage in a variety of watersports if this is your desire. This is my forth visit to this cottage and about my tenth to the Western Lakes. The property itself is clean, cosy, comfortable and has an amazing shower. Perfect when returning from a long trek in the fells. There are a few good local pubs and a well stocked shop at Boot. I can't wait to visit again.

We absolutely loved our stay at the retreat! The cottage had everything we needed and was in such a beautiful location. Perfect for walking! It’s a little drive to get to any shops, but this doesn’t bother us. We will definitely return!
