Outside a gated security entry system leads you to The Great Barn at Waternook where there’s plenty of private parking for you and your guests. Those who choose to arrive by helicopter or boat, please get in touch to discuss the details in advance. Down at the shoreline you’ll find a boathouse and private jetty, ideal for if you bring or hire a boat for your stay. A large patio overlooking Ullswater offers a great place to sit and enjoy the views and is perfect for al fresco dining.

Sociable Spaces include the huge 'Lake Room' providing a great social place to relax in the company of others, with fine furnishings and its own minstrel's gallery! On request, the 'Lake Room' can be transformed into a banqueting or function room for special occasions. Mood lighting, integrated sound systems and heating are all wireless iPad controlled, there’s Wi-Wi throughout the building so you can stay in contact with the outside world. With three luxury bedrooms, each individually themed and all, excluding the Butterwick suite, with splendid lake views. Ullswater is generally considered to encompass three major villages. This includes Glenridding at the south and Pooley Bridge at the north. The second largest lake, at approximately 7.5 miles wide, Ullswater is often regarded as the most beautiful lake in the district. There is dramatic mountain scenery to the south, as well as the gentle hills of the north. This region is popular among walkers, climbers and cyclists of all levels of ability. There are various water sports for all abilities too and lots of family activities. Along with historical sites of interest, Ullswater has a strong nautical history, having been a popular sailing destination for centuries. There are marinas placed all around the lake. Plus a wide range of superb eateries and shops, sure to delight!

Also, on the west side of the lake is the beautiful Aira Force Waterfall. It is one of the National Park’s most popular natural tourist attractions. Glenridding is a particularly popular tourist attraction with mountain walkers. They visit the village to scale England’s third highest peak, Helvellyn.
