It is approximately three miles from the traditional Lakeland towns of Ambleside and Hawkshead and is ideal for a family or two couples.

Walk into the courtyard and step into your bright, open plan sitting room with kitchen and dining area. You will be impressed by the natural light flooding into the space from the dual aspect windows. Admire your striking gas log burner, attractive wooden flooring, stylish suite and co-ordinated decor, before walking over to your contemporary kitchen with high- quality integrated appliances and to your welcoming dining with attractive dining table. Walk out to your sunny bench and relax for a while before climbing the stairs to find your beautiful bedrooms: a master with a king-size bed and TV, and a twin bedroom. Both rooms have attractive rooflines and some exposed beams. You will find a modern bathroom separate shower.

Walk through the woods to the wide garden terrace and enjoy lovely views of the lake before exploring the extensive shared grounds. If you are up early enough you might even see the otters from the jetty! Visit nearby Wray Castle, owned by the National Trust and explore its many footpaths and a wonderful woodland outdoor play area for children of all ages. You will have a choice of many wonderful trails from your doorstep, whether it’s a low-level circular route or an adventurous hike up

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
