Prepare delicious meals within the beautiful fitted kitchen, complete with all you need for a self-catered stay, all to be enjoyed at the charming dining table. Completing this floor is one of the three delightful bedrooms, with this one boasting a king-size bed to catch your rest in, along with an en-suite walk-in wet room to freshen up in. Climb the stairs to steal a moment to yourself in the cute reading corner on the landing, before finding the remaining two bedrooms, both featuring zip/link beds which can be made into a super-king-size or two singles, with one enjoying room for a cot and the other offering spectacular sunset views over the fells.

Delight in a warm soak in the bathtub within the family bathroom, with a walk-in shower here too for a speedier wash when you’re heading out for the day! At ground level, find a useful utility room for outdoor gear, a laundry area and a separate WC, whilst outside there is a lockable shed ideal for bikes and a separate canoe store. Climb on your bike and take on the eight-mile Loughrigg circuit to experience descending rocky trails and superb views from Loughrigg Terrace, or launch your kayak on the river and make your way downstream to beautiful lake Windermere. Pull on your boots to experience some of the most spectacular and idyllic trails in the Lake District, all from your doorstep!

For a relaxing day, walk through scenic Rothay Park to the town centre to find excellent restaurants, cafés and pubs, or walk to Waterhead and enjoy a cruise on the gorgeous Lake Windermere or hire a boat to explore its secluded bays. Must-visit attractions of the lakes include Stock Ghyll Force waterfall, National Trust’s Hill Top, The World of Beatrix Potter and the amazing Lakes Aquarium, all amidst the incredible scenery of this beloved national park. Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
