Literary enthusiasts will be mesmerised by her farmhouse, which has been preserved exactly how she would have left it. The property also has a magical cottage garden which is well worth exploring. Head into Hawkshead, which has an olde-worlde feel, to dine in one of the cute tearooms or drink in the cosy inns.
