Step onto the gravel drive and hear the gentle crunch beneath your feet as you approach this distinguished hotel, proudly established in 1871. Its timeless stone façade is enhanced by elegant finishing touches - potted greenery, soft lantern lighting, and graceful deer sculptures- creating a warm and refined welcome.

Make your way to the first floor, where a carefully curated collection of local artwork lines the walls, subtly reflecting the beauty and heritage of the surrounding landscape. Inside, the king-size bedroom is beautifully styled with feature-patterned wallpaper and a Smart TV, offering a cosy yet sophisticated space to unwind after a day of exploring.

The contemporary en-suite shower room features a generous walk-in shower, basin and WC, designed with both comfort and style in mind. A fridge and kettle provide added convenience, perfect for leisurely mornings or relaxed evenings in your room.

Outdoors, guests can enjoy access to a shared rear garden, complete with a well-maintained lawn and comfortable seating - an ideal spot to savour a quiet moment with a drink or a good book. Just moments from your room, the on-site bar and restaurant provide a relaxed yet elegant setting for evening dining or casual drinks, with the added comfort of entertainment.

Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park is the lovely village of Grasmere, probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found". Any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family has been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century, and Grasmere Lake. Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere, and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.
