Centrally located in the ever popular village of Ambleside, Fell View is a luxury first and second floor apartment, created from a large former Lakeland stone house. Sympathetically and thoughtfully renovated, the apartment provides spacious accommodation in an excellent village location, overlooking the bowling green and recreation ground and with views towards Loughrigg and the surrounding fells. The owners have used their flair for design to introduce a very modern theme in the apartment, with clean lines, subtle colour schemes and quality fittings, creating a truly contemporary feel throughout.

The positives about this property are the location which is very central and close to many shops and amenities, the fact that there are 3 on suite bathrooms and there are 2 car park passes provided which is useful. That's the plus points now for the negatives! When we arrived we were greeted by cobwebs around the property, a curtain rail half hanging off the wall so no privacy from that window, none of the bathrooms or bedrooms had working locks, the French press still has old coffee in it 2 bathrooms had no soap the general state of cleanliness was the worse I've seen and we've been renting properties for over a decade in the lakes. The mattress in the bed I slept on needs replacing, the springs could be felt and was very uncomfortable. One of the shower hoses was broken so that shower was unusable.I tried contacting the owners twice and they refused to call me back when requested although they did send a handyman who did fix the shower hose and rather that addressing them curtain rail issue simply took the damaged rail off the wall and didn't return during our 5 day stay. There were so many more issues, too many to list and it's genuinely such a shame as there's potential for a wonderful stay here it does need care and attention and I hope the owner takes on board the feedback and addresses the issues for future.The guest book did also mention some of these issues from previous people who've stayed so it seems the owners just can't be bothered.

Good spot when you want to stay in the middle of the town of Ambleside. Free parking a few minutes walk for the apartment. Clean, confortable beds and each room has its own bathroom. So great for a big family or group.
